Chapter Five- The Hatching

Dream wakes up the next morning once again to the sound of his brother raging at something in his room down the hallway. He sighs and stands up, grabbing his mask and putting it on over his eyes. He has to deal with this most mornings. He slips on his slippers and makes his way out of his room, down the hallway to Dannie's room.

Kallie and Megan had beat him there. Dream pushes the door open with a loud sigh and sees Dannie sitting on his bed, furiously swinging his legs back and forth. "What's up with you this time?" Dream questions his 2-year younger brother.

"None of your business, Clay!" Dannie shouts, getting off his bed and going up to his balcony. Dream narrows his eyes from under his mask and sighs again.

Kallie, being the calmest in the situation, goes up to her younger brother and calmly asks, "Dannie what's wrong?".

Dannie huffs and looks away, "Just... stuff! It's none of your business" he says, turning his entire body away to face the kingdom, rather than his siblings.

Megan huffs, messing with her hair, "He obviously isn't going to speak" she says, "Let's just leave him to it, you know he'll be fine later" she says, walking out of the room.

Dream and Kallie nod and follow Megan out of the room. Dream partially feels like Dannie might have gotten his angry temper from their dad, who they have still never met.

The 3 siblings go to their rooms to get ready for the day. Dream has some royal business to take care of today, so he put on his crown along with his mask. He doesn't wear his crown often, only when it's important. Walking back out in his normal green hoodie, blue jeans and green trainers, he makes his way downstairs to get breakfast, but not before seeing Megan skipping down the stairs across from him, her own mask in hand. She had made it with Dream's help a couple weeks ago.

"Careful Megan" Dream says, waiting at the bottom of the stairs for her. "I'm fine!" she laughs, putting her mask on once she reaches him. She doesn't put it over her eyes though.

"Sure" Dream chuckles, "Come along Drista" he smiles. Megan chirps happily and skips after her brother. Ever since Dream became king, people have been giving his siblings nicknames. The one that stuck for any of them was 'Drista', and that was for Megan.

Everyone says it's 'Dream' and 'Sister' combined. Megan loves it and will occasionally call herself Drista instead of Megan.

They go into the dining hall where Kallie is waiting for them, and surprisingly, Dannie. He always was speedy.

------------- Mesa Kingdom ~ Firestone Castle ------------

Scott chuckles as he watches one of his guards, Wilbur, trying to chase after his younger brother, Tommy. "Are you struggling?" Scott jokes.

"A little!" Wilbur calls back, grabbing Tommy by the back of his top and dragging him gently back inside. "I let you come to work with me, so I don't want you messing around!" Wilbur says to Tommy. The 12-year-old blonde boy playfully rolls his eyes, "I'm just trying to be funny" he laughs.

Wilbur rolls his eyes, "I'm sorry about him" he says to Scott.

"It's fine" Scott chuckles, "Can you let the Gemini and Harlow know that I'm heading off to help Shelby with her dragon egg?" he asks.

Wilbur nods, "Sure. Oh and, tell Shelby I said hello" he smiles.

"I will" Scott smiles back and then makes his way to the back garden where Norbert is. Somehow, Norbert has grown to at least 20 feet tall in just a few days, but it's handy for Scott. Scott also found out that one of the people in his kingdom actually do have a white ice dragon, and they offered to let Scott show the dragon to Shelby, so she has a good idea of what to except when her dragon is older.
