Chapter Eight- Powers Unleashed

-------- Desert Kingdom ~ The Field -----------

Shelby sat in the middle of the field, wondering when she was going to hear back from the Dragon Masters. It's been two days now since she got the first Trial. Scott's birthday is tomorrow, and she's really excited for it.

It's very early in the morning. The guards gave her the day off to relax since she has been doing a lot of royal business in the past couple days. Quig and Chloe decided to help out today since they didn't have anything else to do today.

Shelby thought about how she wanted to spend her day off of royal business. She was sitting in casual clothes, which included a light grey sweater, denim overalls, light brown boots and her white crown, of course. She also had a flower in her hair that she made herself with her powers.

"Maybe I can mess with my powers a little..." she thinks, stretching out her legs and placing her palms on the bright green grass. The ground begins to glow and Shelby watches as many different coloured flowers sprout from the ground. Shelby could feel her hair flowing lightly, and her eyes were glowing too. She closes her eyes and lays back, relaxing as a gentle breeze sweeps over her face. She has been spending a lot of time in the field lately since it has a good mix of the normal heat that she's used to with the desert, and the coldness of winter.

She smiles lightly and relaxes her entire body. She could feel the petals grazing against her bare hands, tickling her, making her giggle lightly. She has a big week ahead of her. She has Scott's birthday tomorrow, and then she's hanging with some old friends in a few days, plus, she'll most likely be getting the 2nd Trial in the next few days, if not today. She needed today to relax.

She opens her eyes and sees that she had put a huge barrier of flower-vines around her. She sits up and examines the vines with surprise. She had never made anything like this with her abilities. Of course, her powers had helped the grass when they were ending the battle with Miseria, but still, this surprised Shelby.

Shelby let's her body relax, and the vines disappear. The Desert Queen smiles. She knew that her powers were getting stronger than ever before.

------------- Mesa Kingdom ---------------

Scott jogs down the path. He had some royal business to attend to in the village of Ferl. He decided to play about with his powers as he makes his way there. He throws his hands behind him and his body lights up. A wave of wind shoots behind him and boosts him forward. He activates his ability to create clouds and he lands on it as he comes back down. He stands up and begins using the cloud to fly himself over to Ferl. He would of just flew over on his own, but he decided to be creative this time.

He goes higher and higher until he can see for miles across the Mesa. He sits down so that he won't fall from the cloud and continues on his way to Ferl. He could see the Riverside village in the distance. He smiles and begins floating down as he gets closer.

He uses his powers again to make the cloud disappear and he begins to gently float his way down to the village. He could see that his wind powers were making the snow that was gently falling around him, spin around his body like a tornado. He smiles.

He could see a guard look up as Scott got closer to the ground. "King Scott, please be careful!" he calls out, backing up to allow Scott space to land.

"I'm fine, Jacob!" Scott grins, doing a spin and then landing on the ground, smiling at the guard. The guard, Jacob, sighs, "Follow me" he says, waving his hand to get Scott to follow him to where they needed to be.

As Scott walked, people who saw him pass by would bow or curtsy with a smile on their faces. Scott smiles and waves to his people. "My King, your body is still glowing" Jacob says.
