Chapter Thirteen- The Final Dragon Trial (Part 1)

--------------- Laradith Kingdom ~ Rylaia ---------------

Morning comes around, and Dream awakes to a knock on his bedroom door. He hears the familiar voice of Kallie on the other side, "Dream? It's time to wake up" she says.

Dream sighs, not replying to his older half-sister. He had locked himself in his room for the past few days now, not stepping outside of it for even a second. He hasn't eaten much either, he hasn't gone on his balcony, he has just sat in his bed. Kallie took up the mantle of the royal business while Dream stayed in his room all day, all night.

"Dream, you have to speak to us at some point" she says with a small sigh. She didn't like to raise her voice at Dream because she knew how mad he could get if you start an argument with him. There has been a bunch of times where he transformed into Nightmare and attacked his siblings.

Dream rolled his eyes, "Go away Kallie" he says, laying back down on his side. Kallie takes a deep breath in, adjusting her mask so that it wasn't covering the eye that she can see out of. She decided just to take it off fully and shoved her brown hair over her blind eye.

Drista walks up and looks at Kallie, "Is he still not talking?" she questions.

Kallie shakes her head, "Nope, unfortunately" she says before walking back down the hallway. Drista looks at Dream's door before following Kallie.

"We have to get him out at some point" Megan speaks. Kallie nods to her, "I know, he just needs time. It shocked us all to see dad".

----------------- Mesa Kingdom -----------------

Scott wakes up a little earlier than usual and decides to go for a walk. He looks around as he goes. The snow has cleared slightly after the storm yesterday. He had called Shelby last night to see if she was okay, she seemed a little down, so they've organised to meet up later on. Scott really wanted to be there for Shelby, even though he didn't know what she was upset about.

As Scott walks down the small hill, he sees one of his friends playing in the snow. He walks over to see that it's Katherine laying there, making a snow angel.

"Hey" Scott greets. Katherine opens her eyes with a smile, "Morning! I didn't expect you to be up this early" she says as she sits up.

Scott shrugs, "I didn't either" he says, "What you up to?" he questions.

She shrugs too, "I'm just messing about with my powers. I still don't understand why I got dirt powers" she says, "I have a meeting with Kate, the witch in Ayder, and she's going to explain to me what my powers do and whatnot" she explains to Scott.

Scott smiles, "That'll be good" he says.

-------------- Desert Kingdom ~ The Field Tower ---------------

Shelby climbs up the ladder of her tower and gasps when she sees a new chest sitting in the centre of the room. She climbs up and makes her way over to it. On the front it was labelled as 'The Third Dragon Trial'. She opens it up and finds the same 9 gold inside, along with the book. She takes the gold out first and puts it into her backpack which was sat against the wall.

She takes out the boo and begins to read it. "Hello adventurer, this is your final trial in your journey to recover your young dragon and gain the knowledge of the masters. The worshippers had the egg of a fire dragon, but still needed the egg of an ice dragon. If fire dragons resided in the underworld, they knew to look for a dimension in the skies for the ice dragons. Using the materials found in the underworld, they created a new portal..." she reads aloud.

She thinks for a moment, "Well, that sounds like the Aether portal, pretty obviously" she laughs a little. She grabs her backpack and her horn which had Panfry inside of and headed back down the tower, after grabbing her armour of course.
