HEART RACING FROM BOTH BAD AND GOOD

The car ride was relatively quiet, except for some meowing from Sora, and Akina who had questions bouncing off her tongue.

She was scared, she felt safe but was still scared. So she asked questions to calm herself, another one of her habits that was being displayed directly in front of Jungwoo.

Her constant questioning also eased up Jungwoo who was even more worried. Her inquisitive mind allowed him to bounce back into detective-mode; which was what he needed to be in desperately.

Outside, frost hung on metal surfaces, the ground was sprinkled with icy snow and the moon shined quite bright as he drove the car on the empty street.

Inside, the car was toasty since the heat was on, warming them up as the current radio station played on a quiet setting and Sora's kennel was secured in the backseat.

If there wasn't a murderer coming for Akina, this moment would've been perfect. She loved the atmosphere; it made her heart warm.

Even though her life was presumed to be in danger, for some reason she felt at ease. Maybe it was just her soulmate sitting next to her; the effect of the bond working smoothly. Or maybe, Akina was beginning to piece together a home for herself.

Her questions dwindled at the perfect time because now, Jungwoo was pulling into Neo Headquarters easily, parking in the front.

She squinted out, noticing two figures standing at the front door. Looking at them she noticed one figure immediately. The tall detective who always called her 'Doc' every time she saw him.

When she departed her eyes from Johnny, she couldn't quite recognize the other one. He was similar in height, but after that, she couldn't pinpoint any more features from the distance between them.

Her staring was interrupted by her door opening, Jungwoo waiting for her to get out of the car. She unbuckled her seatbelt, stepping out of the car before opening the back, reaching for the kennel's handle.

"Can't leave her out here by herself," Akina mentioned as the faintest smile adorned Jungwoo's lips; he then grabbed the briefcase and closed the door.

Although it was a small space they walked at the same pace easily; Akina hauling the somewhat heavy kennel.

Walking up the steps, she noticed Jungwoo's eyes glancing around, him checking the area around him. She had a feeling that he was looking around to make sure there was no danger in sight.

He was checking for anything off; just in case if the perpetrator was there.

"Doc, who did you bring?" Johnny questioned, his eyes moving to the kennel as he kept his usual introduction. "Sora, my cat."
