When it gets hard, remember you are not the only one struggling nor the only one that has felt that way. You're not alone.

THE FIRST ENCOUNTER

"Did you hear how one of the ER doctors just found their soulmate," Jihoon says while they all sat in the break room eating. Most of them looked lost realizing they never hear about the drama at the hospital.

"Yes! He came in and she had to help him, and now she's with him. I heard he's a famous boxer!" Our newest and most bubbly Nurse on our team said. Jihoon nodding excitedly with her. Akina looked at the two and smiled at the two beaming about the new soulmate bond.

"How did she know?" Akina says to the group while picking at her food. "I think she felt his pain because he was probably in a lot of it, ya know the typical way people find out," Jihoon said explaining it to all of them.

The soulmate bond is not typical though, every case is different. Some have to go through something traumatic with them to know while others just see each other they sub-consciously know. After that, if they don't stay in contact with each other then it gets ugly.

As the others talk about all the infamous cases of the soulmate bond: Akina's mind goes to her parent's love story and how they told it to her.

"Momma, how did you and Pops know you were soulmates," three-year-old Akina says in the lap of her loving mother."I just graduated high school and instead of going to college I traveled the world to find what I wanted to do," Akina's mother described the story while rocking her daughter.

"Then I was in Japan and walking around and found this woodcraft shop. Inside your father was reading a book while his father was crafting some furniture. He was a good looking boy and so introduced myself," She continued the story almost in a haze from rewinding to those times.

"So how did you know?" The little girl said with big eyes to her mom. She chuckled, "Well he was shy and I wasn't so when some of his friends came in and started to embarrass him for a girl talking to him I just knew."

The little girl looked at her mother with confused eyes and her eyebrows scrunched together to accompany a small pout. "Huh, you just knew? Momma, I don't understand."

She looked down on her daughter and gave her the purest smile and brushed her hair through her fingers. "Honey when you meet him you might or might not know but if you do just know then you'll understand. Its unexplainable magic, that's what soulmates are."

"Akina you ready to go, our break is over," Jihoon says while shaking her shoulder slightly. Being awakened from her daydream she gets up and heads back to her office for her afternoon appointments.

As the appointments flowed one after another a knot was beginning to form into Akina's neck. Now into her fourth appointment, she let her patient drawing her mood today while she skimmed through the last couple of the patient's feeling charts.

"So Sehyun how are you feeling today?" The patient begins talking while Akina hones into what she is saying. She continues talking but Akina can't help but slowly multi-task her attention to the muffled screaming outside.

She waits for a second hoping it will stop but it continues. Wanting to see what's happening she waits for Sehyun to finish her sentence before informing her that she's going to see what's happening but she'll be right back.

She walks over to the pale blue door and slides it open and peers out of it to see a child throwing a tantrum outside while Nurse Lee tries to calm her down and who she assumes is her mother just mumbling curse words.

Before realizing her feet take her to the situation looking at Nurse Lee for some sort of indication of what's going on. A sense of irritation washes over the nurse unknowing to Akina.

"Hey, hey, it's okay, everything's going to be okay," she comforts the boy being eye level with him. He continues to cry so Akina shuffles up to the front desk grabbing a lollipop and heads back over to the situation where attention was starting to gather.

Once grabbing the boys' attention again she signals to the lollipop, "If I give you this will you calm down for us?" He nodded slowly so she gave it to him and patted his head, "Good boy."Nurse Lee smiles at Akina as a thank you and she rushes back to her current patient to continue the session.

Outside in the waiting room, the elevators ring open and Jungwoo and Johnny walk out with Areum. She stands in between them holding Johnny's hand. Areum was more trusting of Johnny since she has only met Jungwoo once. The boys were taking her to her appointment because her aunt's schedule was full today.

Jungwoo goes to sign in as the other two sit across from the boy who earlier threw a temper-tantrum of course unknown to them. Jungwoo walks over and joins them and begins to wait.

"Alright, Sehyun I think today went really well I'll see you next time." The girl nods and sees her way out. Akina pulls up her schedule on her computer to see her next patient.

Realizing its Areum she grabs her file from her desk cabinet and sits it on her desk. She strolls out of the room making her way to the waiting room to see two familiar faces. Johnny notices her walking near them and gets Areum's attention.

She looks up seeing Akina then jumps out of her seat and skips towards her. "Akina!" Areum says with a giggle, "Look at my bracelet I got."

"Wow, Areum it's so pretty, Hello Johnny." She exclaims to Areum then nods off to Johnny. As she takes her attention off of him her gaze switches to the man who now was next to the seat Areum was in.

He didn't seem familiar, she knew the others that have come here. She also knew he was with him based on how he was dressed. The white button-up that had one unbuttoned and black slacks and shoes. She also noticed his jet black hair that was swept away from his face.

She cocks her head slightly unknowingly to him because he was in his own world reading something on his phone. Johnny notices and coughs to grab his attention which made the boy's hair move as he looked up.

"This is Doctor Sato Akina Jungwoo, Doc this is Kim Jungwoo he's on the case now." Jungwoo looks at the girl in front of him. Her short-statured and black banged hair stood out in the white doctor coat.

She smiles at him quickly before suggesting, "You can just call me Akina if you like."

DOUBLE UPDATE!!!!

Now they have met ;) Also, I've decided Johnny and Akina are going to get a fun friendship. You guys now also know some of Akina's past, but buckle up.

++ So the soulmate bond might be a little bit odd to ya'll but just to explain its different for everyone. Some just know while others need one to experience an extreme emotion so they both can feel it which activates it. Also, they have to be in the same room when it happens so yeah.

Hope it makes sense! So I won't be able to update as much because school is starting soon but I will try my best.
