In the end, I promise you'll make it through.

Stretching in her chair Akina felt her back pop as she stared at the schedule of her patients for the afternoon. It was calm today for the pediatric wing of the hospital, not as much crying and screaming that tended to happen more than you would expect.

Raking her hand through her hair she pushed her chair back from the desk and lifted herself out of her seat. Escaping through the door of her office she started to walk to the front desk of the pediatric side of the hospital.

"Hey, Akina what are you up to?" The boy sitting at the front desk asked with big doe eyes and an innocent smile.

"You know I just wanted to come and bother you until my next patient comes." She said, tapping the high counter while looking at him with a smile.

Truth be told he was just one of those people that when you see them you just become happier. Akina would never know exactly why but she always felt relieved to see him here, happy and healthy.

He scoffs playfully, "Well, actually I'm on my break now, you want to go get some snacks with me, I'm starving." She nods as he slides out of his chair and walks around the desk to her.

"I feel as though you are somehow always on break and hungry when you see me," Akina says while clicking her tongue leading him to the elevators by the waiting area. "Every time I see you my energy just drains automatically," he says fanning his face dramatically as they enter the empty elevator.

An eye roll comes from Akina as she reaches up to ruffle the young boy's hair. Well, he is not that much younger than her but his kid-like smile has always made him look like a big goof every time she sees him.

"Whatever you say Jihoon," she says as the elevators head down to the main floor.

"We've got another case!" Doyoung says as he comes into the open cubicle space. Some of the guys around him look up to look at him, while others continue to work if they already have a case.

Taeyong walks in behind, "Yuta and Johnny come with us." The two looked at each other, rising from their seats, following the other two to the split level area where the investigation board is.

Doyoung flips it over to reveal the somewhat cold case the four have been working on. Johnny begins to rake his hand through his hair already realizing what's to come. Doyoung puts the two new pictures on the board in an empty space.

"Four sets of parents killed in two months, this now makes it a fifth. Park Sungho age 37 and Park Chohee age 35 murdered this morning at around 10:30 am." Taeyong says with a slight amount of irritation in his voice. "Their daughter was found in her closet." He adds.

The other guys look at the pictures of the two parents and show a solemn expression before they start their questions.

"Is the blueprint the same," Yuta asks. "Yes, they were holding hands while laying against the wall. The stab marks were the same and the scene was clean." Doyoung responds, "The daughter won't say anything, she's in shock." Doyoung adds.

As Doyoung finishes, Taeyong puts up a picture of their daughter and writes beside it 'Park Areum; Age 5.'

All the boys look at the young girl's face and stare in silence. The four felt guilty, another child had lost their parents and they couldn't find the perpetrator. Johnny speaks up in the silence, "Does she have any family? If she does maybe that could help her talk."

"Her aunt came in ten minutes ago, still nothing the poor kid won't say anything," Doyoung tells the group. It became silent again until another officer came up onto the floor. "Taeyong I was researching and I think if her aunt allows it, we should get her into some type of therapy. It might help us and it will help her." The tall but shy boy said to their chief. Taeyong nods his head seeing it as a good idea and compliments the boy, before walking down the step while the other three follow.

He leads them to one of their conference rooms where another officer sat in there to help soothe the lady and the little girl.

As they walk into the warm feeling room they all look in with soft smiles. "Ma'am could I talk to you for a minute," Taeyongs asks the lady whose eyes were bloodshot. She nods and follows Doyoung and him out of the room leaving Johnny and Yuta in the room.

Immediately, Yuta sits on the couch next to another officer and asks him if the little girl has said anything. Johnny approaches the little girl who sat on the couch across from the other one, "Can I sit here?" The little girl doesn't say anything, she just continues to stare at her small hands in her lap.

Johnny slowly sits beside her not to create any fast movements. He looks at the little girl who had black hair with thin bangs, she also presumably looked to be in her pajamas. He could only see her side profile but he could tell the girl was scared. Making Johnny question if the perpetrator said or did anything to the kid which ultimately made him shiver. Before he could try to talk to her again Taeyong came back into the room and sent both the boys a nod.

"Sweetheart would you like to come with me and my friends, your aunt is coming with us too," Johnny asked while kneeling to try to see the child's face. She raised her head to look at the door to see her aunt giving a comforting smile to her then slowly looked at Johnny in his face.

Johnny could see the fear behind the girl's dark eyes: the innocence that had now been tainted. He felt a stab to his heart but he put his hand out palm up so the little girl could put her hand there slowly she put her small hand into his keeping her gaze on him almost like if she blinked he would be gone and she would be alone in that closet again.

They all headed to the car outside, as they all got in they made their way to the Seoul Central hospital.

Johnny being soft makes me wanna cry. Thank you all for reading the first chapter, I hope you enjoyed it! Also, buckle up because it's going to be a long ride. I would also like to say that Jungwoo probably won't appear till the end of chapters two or three but just be patient.

Also, this soulmate au might be a little different than others I changed a little bit of the typical rules to help the plot of my book but the concept will still be a soulmate au!!
