CONTINUOUS BAD EVENTS

Time goes by fast when all you do is sleep, run to the bathroom, and repeat. And that's exactly what Akina's day consisted of.

The sun left and the moon rose and Akina stayed in the comfort of her bed with Sora by her side with medicine and a half-drunk glass of water on her nightstand.

The color of her face was slowly replenishing, but her appetite was long gone even if her stomach was empty she had no strength to get up nor the want to eat.

She stayed sprawled out, gripping her covers with her hands, eyes trained on the wall, sleep making her eyes heavy once again.

But the sounds of small beeps from her living room brought her some energy. The familiar sound of the keypad of her door made her feel content.

She heard the door open, not suspicious because she knew it was Jungwoo. There were some noises of footsteps and the door shutting with a click.

With her small amounts of strength, she lifted herself, looking out into the dim hallway. The figure she saw looked familiar so she pried the blankets off; the bottoms of her feet hitting the cool hardwood floors.

She shuffled slowly, ever so often pressing her hand against the wall to help her move into the living room space where Jungwoo stood not facing her.

She didn't know what he was doing and the light that was turned on required her eyes to adjust. She blinked a couple of times glancing around.

At the entrance of the apartment sat his shoes and a briefcase of some sort, his overcoat hung on one of the chairs beside her.

When he turned around he jumped slightly, not expecting her to be right behind him but he brushed it off, but for some reason, the same fear stayed in his eyes.

Her eyes glance at the black letter that he was holding, confused about where he got it from. "What's that?" She asked, her voice laced with drowsiness.

He wanted to hide it from her, he wanted to destroy any evidence that she was in danger. He wanted her to be safe, so he knew he had to speak up.

"I know I shouldn't open your mail, but I had a hunch," There was a cringe in his voice as his knuckles were gripping the thin paper quite tightly.

"A hunch about what?" She asked, his worries almost flowing into her, making her heart quicken.

"I didn't want to believe it, maybe it was just a coincidence, that is possible, but this and the missing security cameras, and you, I just-" His voice was shaking, nerves overspilling in his body.

"What's happening Jungwoo?" Akina, although anxious from his words, tried to stay calm for him, taking a step forward slowly.

"The case...the case, he uh hacked into the system at headquarters that's why I had to leave early in the morning, you look like them and you have the letter," He gulped, running his hand through his hair as his eyes looked around the room sporadically.

"Woo," She spoke reaching her hand to his arm hoping it would somehow calm him down enough for him to say exactly what he needed to, and at this point, she was getting more nervous by the seconds.

Her touch made the two glow and luckily it caught Jungwoo's attention, allowing him to speak his next words which made the room go cold. "He's coming for you next, or at least he's threatening us."

The next movements went by in slow-mo. The nauseating feeling resurfaced sending Akina into a panic, tripping over herself and she ran to the bathroom. Bile rose out and littered the water as hands pulled her hair out of her face.

It was a feeling like no other, the phrase took her for a loop. In her head, she asked why, and even though she felt safe with Jungwoo she couldn't help but fear for her life.

Because her life was connected to his and she didn't want him to go through pain. That was the last thing she would want.

After emptying her already empty stomach she sat against the wall, simultaneously tying her hair into a lazy ponytail.

Jungwoo did the same, sitting beside her, his mind running like crazy with worry, so much worry that he wouldn't be able to keep her safe.

"It'll be okay," She mumbled in an attempt to calm both of their nerves as she stared blankly in front of her, not even knowing what she should be doing right now.

A moment of silence left the two with their thoughts, two people who tended to worry more than an average person. Two people who were trying to sift everything piling in their minds.

A laugh full of pity escaped her lips as she recalled her series of unfortunate events in life. The chaos just never stopped.

Her laugh though made Jungwoo snap out of thought to look at the girl who still looks sick sitting beside him. He could sense how she felt, one of the many pros of the soulmate bond. She was scared.

"It'll be okay," He repeated hoping it would help the two as he got up, extending his hand out to her to take.

She looked at his hand before grabbing it. Once she did she got to her feet and let go of his hand to brush her teeth and wash her hands.

In the other room Jungwoo was putting the envelope in the briefcase he brought, pulling out his phone to quickly call Taeyong.

After a few rings, the call went through, "What's up Jungwoo?" He asked casually.

"She has one of the letters Taeyong, he's coming after her," He informed, panic still apparent in his voice.

Shuffling was heard before Taeyong spoke, "Okay kid, you need to follow protocol, I need you to bring in that letter, also check her place for anything odd."

"I will, but I don't even know if my place is safe either." He mumbled as he ran his thumbnail against the back of his pointer finger.

"Taeil checked and reinstalled a better security for your house, as of right now that's the safest place for you two, I'm going to get agents to patrol your complex, just come here and will talk more."

Jungwoo inhaled sharply as Akina walked out of her bedroom with a new hoodie on, "Alright, I'll be there soon."

He ended the call, putting his phone into his pocket before readjusting his attention to Akina. "How are you feeling?"

She looked at him seriously before a smile cracked onto her face involuntarily. "This kinda sucks."

"Yeah, it sucks," He agreed to take a few steps towards her, "Let's get Sora and head out of here, okay?"

"Okay."
