BACK HOME
The next morning started early. The two doubled- then triple checked that they had everything. Movers came and took the boxes as the two got into a taxi and led the way to the storage container. They took it all out and Akina locked it up.
They then in a hurry made their way to the airport, going through all the checks. Now they were eating sandwiches as they waited for their flight number to be called. Even though they have been busy today, the scene of last night played in her head and every time it popped up she could feel heat rush to her cheeks.
Unluckily for her, he would sometimes initiate conversation as she was thinking about last night which caused her to have wide eyes, stuttering over her words, and her exaggerated hand gestures that were not required. She hoped he didn't notice but forgot that he felt whatever she did.
When she would get embarrassed, turning into a jumbled mess he would pretend to be oblivious but once her gaze went away the biggest smirk would appear. He was itching to tease her but ruled against it for now.
As their flight was called they gathered their things and headed onto the plane. "Work starts back up again," She said, talking to no one in particular. Since more than a week has passed the two did not need to be together 24/7, instead, they now could be more independent. Akina and Jungwoo alike were excited to go back to work but there was hesitation from both of them; nervous to spend a longer period away from each other.
As the plane took off, Jungwoo pulled out his laptop and began to type fastly and out of curiosity, Akina leaned over trying to get a glance at what he was doing. But to her, it just looked like a bunch of sentences that had no meaning to her, just a bunch of criminal terminology she doesn't understand.
Feeling eyes on him he took his attention off the screen to look at Akina who was still staring at the screen. Her hair was falling on his shoulder as one of her hands was on the hand rest, "Spying on me?" He asked, making her eyes stare into his. Less than a foot of distance between the two as she just goofily smiled, "Guilty."
His heart skipped a beat.
Leaning back into her seat she put her headphones in her ears mumbling some sort of 'continue' to him as she closed her eyes. The two did multiple things to pass the time. From busy work, charades, music sharing, or even telling childhood stories the two tried their best to pass the time without being bored.
But as they were halfway through their flight, fatigue and stiff muscles made them both begging for to reach their destination. Taking a quick stretching break they got back into their seats after. Both sleepy-eyed they manage to sleep the rest of the flight.
From the intercom signaling that they would be landing soon, Jungwoo woke first noticing Akina using her arm as a headrest and her head full of hair falling over her face like a waterfall. She was mumbling something in her sleep but he was unable to understand it. Shaking her awake gently she sat straighter, stretching with a yawn escaping her mouth.
After the surprisingly smooth landing, they grabbed their carry-ons and walked through the terminal to the parking lot where Jungwoo's car was waiting. Putting their suitcases in the trunk they both got in and he drove out of the parking lot to his apartment.
"I'm glad to be back," she mumbled out as her head leaned against the window. "Me too," Jungwoo responded just a light, driving with one hand on the wheel while the other laid on the armrest.
Tapping the wheel to the tune that played out of the radio he continued at his speed and in no time the two made it to her apartment. The light posts that decorated the outside of the complex kept it bright enough for the two to walk safely to her door, stepping in swiftly.
The first thing she noticed was the meows of joy her cat sang as she weaved around her feet excitedly. Crouching down she petted her, grinning seeing her familiar friend. Beside her, Jungwoo also crouched, petting Sora when she would acknowledge him.
"How long have you had her?" He asked as Sora purred from seeing her owner. "For about two years, I got her here because I wanted a friend." She responded by rising to refill Sora's water and food bowls.
Jungwoo strolled in her suitcase -which she left at the door, procrastinating the idea of unpacking- bringing it to her room which door was open. Setting it by the bed he walked back to see Akina looking through the mail -which Jihoon brought in; the person who was feeding Sora.
A couple of typical sighs from bills were heard as she created two piles; Jungwoo watching at her thoroughly as her lips pouted slightly from concentration. Finishing the task she looked up, to see him staring which in turn made her feel nervous, stepping back going into her room, quickly unpacking, throwing the clothes into the hamper.
"So, what are we going to do?" He asked, walking into the room, sitting on her bed to see her face. She contemplated for a moment, wondering what they should do. "Well, it's late and I fed Sora, so if you want to head to your house that's fine with me."
So deciding just that she packed her outfit for tomorrow and he drove them to his house, crashing quickly into bed sleeping soundly.
