A Sonadow Christmas

December 31st (New Year's Eve and $300+)

POV: Sonic

Sadly, mom texted me when I woke up that they won't be able to come today, and Tails is going to visit his family, so it's just going to be me and Shadow. I'm not sad about that, far from it actually. This'll be like our first "date," as some would call it. He even told me that he had gotten us a reservation at one of Mobius' best restaurants, simply entitled "Il Ristorante."

It was a gourmet Italian restaurant with some of the best food on the planet. I was stoked when I heard the doorbell ring after a few minutes. I had made myself look as good as I could, even brushing my quills. Twice. I was wearing a black button-down T-shirt with blue jeans. I decided to grab a fake rose and hold it in between my teeth for extra as I opened the door.

"Hey Shadow, wait- Tails?!?" I look at the fox who is looking at me with the most confused look on his face. I took the rose out of my mouth and set it on the table, letting him get in with his bag. "I thought you were going to visit your parents?"

"And I thought you said that nobody was gonna be home." I hear a voice behind me which makes me jump. I calm down when I turn around to see Shadow, holding his chaos emerald. "Yeah, sorry about that, the runway still had a lot of snow, so I couldn't take off." He puts his ears down while smiling awkwardly.

"How would you like to come to dinner with us?"

I look at Shadow with a surprised look. "Shadow, are you sure?" I ask him as he then nods. "It's the holidays, and he is basically your brother, so why not." He smiles at me. I really like the way he has changed over the past week. I love the new him, and I'm pretty sure everyone does too.

"Really, thanks Shadow!" the kitsune exclaimed happily. "Then off we go-" Shadow says as we were teleported to the other side of Mobius, right in front of Il Ristorante.

We were seated in a booth. Even though the reservations we only for two, they happily agreed to let Tails come too, mostly because we all were Mobius' Heroes.

The food was incredible; I ate every single bite. Since they didn't have chili dogs, I settled on a filet mignon with a side of fettuccine Alfredo. Tails and Shadow both got something that I forgot the name of, but I still tried them both, and they were delicious.

After we had gotten back to my house, it was about 8:30, so I put on a movie as Tails went into the garage to work on one of his many devices. It was a romance movie, but it was quite a powerful one, to say the least. It was like it was made for us; two rivals that somehow became lovers out of some freak incident. It

"Sonic... I'm sorry." I look over at Shadow, who had his face hidden in his hands. "For what?" I don't know what he was referring to, he is being an excellent boyfriend.

"For everything that I have ever done to you. I-if I had given you a chance instead of thinking about you as a selfish, arrogant person, we might've been friends, or even partners sooner." He said as he broke down. I hugged him as I stroked his quills to try to calm him down. I think it was working, since his soft cries started turning into little whimpers. "Shadow, you're fine. I forgive you. And you being with me, and you spending over THREE-HUNDRED DOLLARS on me, you, and Tails further shows that you care. And for that, I love you."

"Y-You mean it?" he wipes his eyes and looks up at me as I kiss him quickly. "I do mean it," I say as I stare into his inviting ruby eyes.  He comes closer as I get closer to him until our lips met.

We were in pure bliss as my watch went off, meaning that it was New Years. We soon broke the kiss as we kept looking into each other's eyes.

"Happy New Year Shadow. I love you." I say as I pull him in a hug as Tails comes back into the living room to see our little display of affection. "I love you too." He says as Tails walks next to me.

"Did I miss anything?" he says as I pull him into our hug as I rustle his hair with my other hand which made him giggle slightly. "Happy New Year buddy."

"You too."

And so ends A Sonadow Christmas. This was honestly fun to write and I really hope you liked it. I tried my best to post on the day it had corresponded with, so it might not be the best, but I still wrote my heart out. I'm very happy that I finished it as well.
