POV: Sonic

The past few days have been pretty boring, to say the least, but it's nice. I was still scared about talking to Shadow, so our conversations were more friend-like, but I could still tell it was awkward for both of us. But still, we enjoyed each other's company.

After we stopped talking, he reminded me of something. The fact that we didn't have our tree up yet. So here we are now, Tails putting the star on while me, Sonia, and Manic are putting on the ornaments.

I haven't seen Shadow all day. The snow wasn't melted yet so he left using chaos control. He had left about an hour ago, not telling anyone where he was going, he just... left.

"Hey Mainc, could you bring me that box of ornaments?" I asked as I helped Tails fix the star as it was lop-sided. "Sure bro..." he brought the box to me and I got out the ornaments.

These were special to me. Each one had a picture of a moment in our lives. For example, one was of the first time I had a victory against Eggman/Robotnik. Another was when I and my family defeated the Eggman Empire and Robotropolis.

As I looked at them, the memories flooded back to me like a river. I smiled when I saw a particular one. It was the first time that I and Shadow had met. It was of me holding onto Shadow's arm while he looked at me just before he chaos controlled away.

"Reliving memories I see."

"Yeah Shadow, I-wait... Shadow?!?" I yelled as the ebony hedgehog appeared behind me with a small bag. "What's in the bag?" I asked.

"It's just some clothes from my house, nothing that concerns you." He said as he walked into the other room. I shrugged it off as I put the last few decorations on the tree. "I think we're just about done here," I state proud at what we've accomplished. "It looks wonderful." Sonia compliments. "Yea it does bro." we all smiled as we heard mom call for dinner in the kitchen. She had said something about making something special, and by the aroma in the kitchen, I knew exactly what she was making.

"Since this'll be the last night it'll be just the family (plus Shadow and Tails), I decided to make Sonic his Favorite meal, as a way to say thank you." Mom said as we all gathered at the table. In the middle, was a plate of about 40 chili dogs. My mouth started watering from the sight. My mom makes the best chili dogs so I was in for a treat.

"So Shadow, why'd you come back- I mean, it's not a problem having you here..." I stutter at some words, trying to make it sound as sensitive as possible. "Well as much as it pains for me to say it, I'd rather be here than stuck at my house all Christmas." We all smiled at him, which caused him to tense up from all of the attention. "Well, that's nice to hear Shadow. And I see you've become pretty good with my Sonic..." 'Ohgotnotthisagain' "Mom, please not right now." She nods as we finish eating.

After a while of watching "Elf" and "The Polar Express," everyone heads to bed, leaving me and Shadow to sit there in the dark. "So, t-there's something I would like to t-tell you." I slowly make out. "There is something I would like to too..." we both look at each other in silence.

"I can't get you out of my mind!"

"I can't get you out of my mind!" We say in unison. We looked at each other and blushed. He then grabbed my hands.

"Sonic, ever since you told me how you feel, I couldn't stop thinking about you. The reason I didn't go home was that I wanted to stay with you. I-I... I love you..." his face was red; I could tell even though it was dark. "Y-You love me?" I was shocked at how he put it. He nods as he moves in and kissed me with the mistletoe sitting right above us.

He kissed with passion as he played with my tail and I moaned slightly. We broke apart as he smiled. "I love you too shadow. Does this mean we're a... you know..."?

"Sonic, will you go out with me?" he goes on one knee like he's proposing to me. I smiled as I pulled him into a hug. "Yes!" he smiled as we stayed like that for a few minutes. After a few moments, I broke the hug with a serious face.

"Shads, It's fine if we tell my family and Tails, but could we not tell everyone else just yet?" I asked. I was somewhat unsure about how they would respond with us now together- wow, that seems weird to say. Well, I'll get used to it.

"Ok, if that's what you want."

"Thanks, Shads."
