POV: Sonic
This week's really been terrible. It's already Wednesday and ma ankle still hurts, but not as mush. Tails; knowing as much as he does, told me to not walk on it until I can stand putting pressure on it. I seriously didn't understand him until Sunday, when I tried to stand on it. I immediately sat myself back onto the bed and grabbed my ankle in sheer pain. Still, Shadow had to watch me that day too, along with the next day. It was alright, he mostly stayed in the other room until I called him to get me something or something along the lines of that.
Yesterday, Tails wasn't doing anything so he had helped me try to get up. When my feet hit the floor, I still felt pain, but it was significant amount less than the last time I tried to stand. I got to finally walk around the house for once and chaos, it felt good. I know it wasn't running, but I felt good to be able to not be so helpless and have people help me.
Finally, today: I woke up and actually stood up. When the pressure of my weight hit the floor, a little pain made me wince, but I was fine. I would've jumped in joy, but I didn't want the pain to return. I happily walked out of my room and made my way downstairs and went into the kitchen to see Tails. When he noticed me coming from the hallway, he smiled and gestured toward the table.
I walked up to the kitsune and sat down next to him. "I see that you're feeling better now." I smile back at him. "Yeah, I do feel a lot better." I exclaimed. He seemed happy at me, now that I wasn't grumpy not being able to do anything. "Nevertheless, I think it's best to not do too much today." I looked at him confused. "What are you implying?" I ask the fox. He puts his ears down and looks at me.
"You still shouldn't run."
The last thing that I wanted. I felt as my heart began to shatter once more. I thought that since I felt pretty much ok, that I could finally do the one thing I loved, something had to come in the way. There was only one thing I could do.
Beg.
"Please Tails, can I at least go for a quick run around the block? I promise I'll be careful..." I asked the twin-tailed fox.
"Sonic, I don't think you sho-"
"Please Tails, I need this." I exclaimed with pleading eyes. Tails finally shrugged. "Whatever, I don't think I can stop you. Just be careful, ok?" I nodded and like that, I was gone.
Like a lightning bolt, I ran out of the house. Feeling the cold December air hitting my dense fur felt like the best thing that has ever happened to me. I smiled as the fresh white snow swept up from my feet hitting the ground. I had never felt more alive.
As I had turned the final corner, a few houses away from my own, I decided to slow down and walk. I wanted to appreciate the beauty of the serene winter wonderland. I thought that the look of the all-white landscape with the few flakes falling from the sky was one of the most beautiful things in the world. I smiled as I went into my thoughts as I walked to my porch and back into the house.
"Better?" Tails asked when I shut the door and took off my coat.
"Yeah."

Thanks for reading this. I " intentionally" took that long. This was to emphasize how much pain Sonic was in...Just so you know, this story's about to take an adventurous turn for a few chapters. I don't want to give much spoilers, but all that I'm gonna say is that Eggman's gonna take sonic on a trip through Mania.
Anyways, please vote and feel free to leave a comment.
