A Sonadow Christmas

December 20th (Cookies and Compliments)

POV: Sonic

Yesterday was sure a weird one, or more or less bad. It wasn't bad like we fought, but rather what happened in the morning. I awoke in Shadows arms on the couch and I could've sworn Tails say that he ships it. I got out of there as fast as I can as both me and Shadow dodged every question that came to us.

But today was a new day and hopefully, everyone will stop asking me if we are a couple. I honestly don't even know. To be honest, I don't even know if he likes guys, let alone me. If the time comes, I'll talk to him. But for now, I sit up from my bed and stretch my back. I look over to see that Manic was already up, with him not being in the bed. I put on my slippers and make my way downstairs.

When I come downstairs, I only see Tails, who smiles and says good morning. "Where is everyone?" I ask. Shadow chaos controlled them to the store with one of our chaos emeralds. They should be back soon." He assured me. He then looks at me and smirks.

"Well, since everyone's gone, why don't you tell me what happened yesterday morning?" He asked. I nodded in agreement. It would honestly be nice to have an outside perspective on the matter. "Fine, but you have to promise not to tell anyone..." he nods as I continue.

"There isn't much to say, other than the fact that one thing led to another, and I ended up falling asleep to him stroking my quills..." Tails smirks at me, and I know exactly what he meant. "Eww Tails, NO! W-Why?!?" he starts laughing at the way I had said it as I blush slightly.

"Nothing happened, ok?" he nods.

"Yes I know, I just like messing with you." He says as I pull him closer and rustle his hair. He tries to get me to stop and after a while I do.

"So, do you like Shadow?" he asked me out of the blue. I didn't know what to say, but I quickly figured out what to say. "Well I do, but I'm not sure if he thinks the same about me. It's all new to me." I feel like I shouldn't be spilling out all my feelings out to the kitsune, mostly due to his age. But it's nice to have someone I can trust and talk to.

"All I can say is to do what your heart desires, and if he tries to hurt you, we're all here to back you up..." he says as he stands up confidently. I laugh as I get up too. "I will Tails, but for now, I'm gonna go get ready for the day." He nods as I race up to my room to get dressed.

After I had gotten done and back down, everyone was already back and putting the groceries away. Even Shadow stayed with them. I thought that he would've gone home if he had the chance, but I guess I was wrong.

"Hey, guys, what's up?" I asked everyone. "Well, I was going to just buy a cookie mix, but Shadow here offered to make them homemade." 'Oh, I forgot Shadow was such a good cook.' I was excited about what he's gonna make. Soon after a while, everyone evacuated the kitchen, leaving Shadow to do his magic. After a while, I decide to go check on him, while everyone is in the other room watching "Home Alone II."

"Hey Shads, how's it going?" I say which gets his attention. He looks over from his recipe book and walks over to me. "I'm doing rather good, but I have a question. Would you like to have a challenge?" I look at him surprised at his intention. He usually doesn't like to do stuff with other people, but that'll be fun.

"What kind of challenge?"

"Well, I already baked them, but I was wondering if which one of us could decorate them the best. We will also choose one to make as a "special" one, with a picture on it. What do you say?" he says as he starts dividing the cookies equally and giving me all of the stuff I could need to decorate with.

"I'd say that you'd better start now!" I say as I already started on my first cookie. He quickly starts on his own as well, and after about 15 minutes, we were done.

We had covered our cookies with paper towels so we couldn't see each other's creations. "You go first," I say as he then shakes his head.  "Why don't we just go at the same time then." I nod my head to agree.

"3...2...1...GO!" I say as we both reveal our masterpieces. And we both blushed a deep red when we saw each other's picture. As I looked at him, it was a picture of me, while mine was of him. "W-Wow Sonic, I-" I hugged him. He hesitated but reluctantly hugged back. "Thanks, Shads."

"Thank you."

That Night

As I lay back in my bed with Manic fast asleep, I think about what to do. I truly like Shadow, but I don't know if he will accept me. Even though he was nice to me, it might just mean he wanted to just be friends. But I have to do something.

"I'll tell him tomorrow."

"Tell who?" (Manic, half asleep)

"Nothing..."
