Lacey spent her time calming down when Kailee went out for her run. Just as she came back into the house as a wolf, she got startled. The whole werewolf gig was still surprising to her.
Kailee shifted back. "Sorry for scaring you."
"That's okay. I'll have to deal with it, anyway." Lacey waved it off.
"And vampires," Kailee reminded her.
"What?!" The female panicked and fell off the couch.
"I mentioned that already, remember?" Kailee reminded her.
Lacey blushed. "I was sort of busy still processing the whole werewolf thing!"
Kailee sighed, explaining, "Vampires are trying to kill me, and I need to lay low for a while."
Lacey ran a hand across her face as a sign of distress. "Oh, god..."
"I'm sorry," Kailee apologized.
Lacey smiled sadly at her. "It's not your fault."
"I just feel guilty," Kailee started.
"Before this conversation can escalate, I have some news," John butted in.
"Which is?" Nick encouraged.
"Kailee is going to high school with Lacey tomorrow."
"WHAT?!" Kailee burst. "I'm eighteen!"
"You need to make friends, and you're going to forms are going to introduce you as sixteen," John said. "Lacey will accompany you and help you through with humans."
"Fine." Kailee sighed in defeat and trudged up to her room.

Lacey shot up to the sound of screaming and raced down the hall to Kailee's room, the origin of the noise.
"What?!" Lacey panicked.
"I have school today!" Kailee yelled.
"You scared the crap out of me! It's just school!" Lacey told her in exasperation as her racing heart calmed.

Lacey stepped out of her car as Kailee hopped out with her. People casted stares at the new girl by her, and Kailee was about to snap, Lacey could tell. "Calm down. Don't go all wolf in here. There are humans," she whispered, and Kailee breathed in before nodding.
Kailee went to the office to gather her information and locked combo, and came back, showing that she had a locker next to me, plus seven out of eight classes with Lacey, excluding PE.
The first class was science. Boys and girls walked in, and eyes were glued to them immediately. Lacey sat in the back, and Kailee took a seat next to her. It most likely wasn't too comfortable around any other people or humans.
Lacey could see Kailee shifting nervously under their gaze, and Lacey was tempted to slap the whole class for staring at her. Kailee was uncomfortable as it was already with no staring.
The teacher, Mr. Jonna, came in and smiled at Kailee. "Class, we have a new student. Her name is Kailee Smith, and she will be with us the rest of the semester. Why don't you stand up and introduce yourself?" He suggested.
Kailee expression shifted to annoyed rather quickly, but she reluctantly stood up. She waved and said, "I'm Kailee. I don't want to be rude, but I didn't want to come to school in the first place, so leave me alone." Then she sat back down.
Mr. Jonna cleared his throat awkwardly and continued with the class.

Lunch couldn't have come sooner, and the school's menu was having rice and beans today. It wasn't Lacey's favorite, and she didn't think Kailee appreciated the menu either, considering she was grumbling down the hall about how they should have food that actually had flavor.
Chris joined them halfway down the hall, and they were still getting stares because Kailee had told literally everyone to lay off of her, but she hadn't said anything about them, so people were looking at Chris and Lacey like they had a few missing brain cells.
The group got their lunches and sat at a table by themselves. "So, why is everyone staring at us like we're retarded?" Chris asked as he took a bite of rice.
"Kailee told everyone to stay away from her, and they think we're stupid for being near her because she didn't mention we were the only ones allowed to interact with her." Lacey chuckled.
Kailee blushed and shrugged. "Hey! My temper is bad as it is! People I don't know will make it worse! You've had first hand experience!" Kailee pointed to Lacey.
"You've got a point," Lacey agreed offhandedly.
Chris rolled his eyes and shook his head. "You guys have one weird friendship," he told the girls.
Lacey suddenly saw Kailee's gaze drift off and start to stare at someone. Lacey poked her, and she snapped out of her daze before turned to her. "Who is that?" Kailee asked.
Lacey took a glance at the person Kailee had been staring at. It was Jeremy Caner. He wasn't a bad boy, but not really a nerd either. He was in the middle, more balanced, and had black hair that was covering an eye like an emo, but it was short. His eyes were a bright green, and he was pretty muscular. "That's Jeremy Caner. Why? Do you have a crush?" Lacey teased.
Kailee's expression stayed neutrally straight, and Lacey immediately knew that this was different. "What?" Lacey questioned with more concern in her voice.
"Jeremy is not crush," Kailee began, turning to Lacey and Chris, as he had eavesdropped on their conversation.
She said the one thing neither of them never thought she'd say. Kailee had explained everything about werewolves, and this new revelation was amazing, but also bad at the same time, considering the vampires were out to kill her.
"He's my mate."
Ohhhh! Things are getting spicy! I worked hard on this chapter, and I hoped you liked it! That's it for now my little doggies, till the next chapter.
