Three Strikes

They followed the young adult boy to the hospital's yard. Kurai spotted Sayoko's car, so she went towards it but she instantly stopped as she felt a strong hand softly gripping her shoulder.

"You're coming with me Miss Makinohara." It was Jungkook.

She looked over at the two confused faces behind her. "So my friends are going to come on their own?"

"They can follow us on the road."

All three nodded at what he said. After all, he was the one in charge at that moment. He'd get suspicious if they said anything.

Her two worried friends marched to Sayoko's car while Kurai followed the man she knew as Jeon.

Jungkook went over to a black SUV police car, and so did the young girl.

He unlocked it. Kurai went to sit in the backseat, but the moment she opened the door, she heard his voice.

"Miss Makinohara, please don't sit there."

Kurai looked at him, confusion on her face, "may I know the reason?"

The young man smiled, "I'd like to chat a little on the way."

She knew what he means by "a little chat". And she wasn't in the mood for it, but she listened to him anyway.

The young girl nodded and sat at the front seat, instantly feeling insecure. She had a good reason for that...

They both put on their seatbelts, then Jungkook lightly slapped his hands on his thighs, rubbing them slowly.

"Well, make yourself comfortable," he said, showing he was ready to start the car.

"Make myself comfortable?" Kurai asked.

Jungkook nodded in a friendly way while trying to warm up the atmosphere.

Kurai glanced at the backseat. She pulled her legs up, adjusted them, and then hugged her knees. She was trying to make herself feel secure and stable.

She thought Jungkook didn't know why she sat in that position so she smiled at him, silently trying to convince him.

But the young man knew... And oh, he knew everything.

He started the car.

The girl looked at the side mirror, her two friends were driving behind them. She rested her forehead on her knees, trying to get some sleep.

After a few seconds, she was interrupted by Jungkook's soft voice.

"Hey, are you alright?"

She pulled up her head. "I'm alright, thank you, sir."

Jungkook shifted a bit on his seat. "Can I ask you some questions, Kurai?"

So he had decided to pull things up a bit. But the young girl was better off with keeping her guard.

"Yes, sir."

Jungkook smiled, "I'd like to know a bit about you and your grandmother, is that alright?"

Kurai took a deep breath before she started explaining, "I have been raised by my grandmother since a very young age. My parents passed away when I was young."

"May I know the cause of your parents' death?" he asked.

"A car accident."

"Were you with them?"
