Messed Up Friends
Sayoko turned around with a huge smile plastered on her round face. She hugged the younger girl over the big glassy desk. "Oh~ Kurai-chan!! Of course I missed you!!"
Kurai did like hugs... but she was really getting choked.
Plus, she was hugging her at a bad location as well... ANYONE who entered the building could have been blessed by the sight of two dumbass friends hugging.
One of them choking, while the other continued on the strong grip.As the younger was trying to pull back desperately, she heard a boyish voice, "Aw hugging without me?"
Sayoko let go of her friend and they both turned their heads to see a pouting boy named Konato looking at them with puppy eyes. Kurai groaned and rolled her eyes but Sayoko grinned and hugged him over the desk.
The youngest was about to scoff and say something about the weird situation but instead, she found herself being pulled into the group hug.
As ridiculous as it might sound, Kurai was actually enjoying it. But her bratty side didn't let her admit it.
So she said, "I'm pretty sure we're all gonna have fun when they kick our butts out of the hospital." That was enough to make Konato laugh and Sayoko nag.
"Kurai, can you try and not be a mood breaker for one day?" Sayoko said in a whiny tone.
The youngest grinned as wide as she could and responded, "well if I did that you wouldn't love me anymore."Konato forced himself to get back to his serious mode as he said, "you're gonna get in trouble for your attitude one day."
"Well, it's not like anyone important like the boss will see this attitude." Kurai snapped back.
"Oh shoot, the boss!" the older woman suddenly screamed.
Konato almost jumped because of her loud voice and Kurai jerked her head around to see if the boss was really here or not.
When Sayoko saw their reactions, she facepalmed then grabbed Kurai's face and Konato's shoulder to gain their attention.
"I almost forgot to tell you guys, the boss and his partners are going to visit the hospital. TODAY!!"
Konato's eyes went wide and he yelled, "FINALLY!" But Kurai just shrugged.
Why would she care about her boss or his partners when she hadn't even seen them since the time she had worked here?
Yes, that's right. She had been working here for two years and she hadn't seen her so-called boss yet.
The reason? All she knew was that the dude was too busy with his other business matters that he didn't have enough time to check on this one.
Ridiculous much?
Probably.
She turned over to Sayoko who was busy cleaning up her desk and asked, "he never bothered to show his glorious ass, so why is he gonna visit the hospital with his partners?"
Konato looked even more confused than his smaller friend.
"Well, the last time he came here was about three years ago. A lot of people had been hired, fired, and retired. So I guess that's the reason he's finally gonna come." Sayoko answered.
"But he's already managing the hospital without even being here," Konato said while scratching his head.
"Yeah, he is. But you know, you should better believe the things you see not the things you hear. Plus, I heard he's probably gonna show the hospital to his partners too."
Kurai sighed with boredom, "so this is why everybody's running around huh?" Sayoko nodded.
"But there's one thing I still don't get..." Konato said with a mysterious tone.
"What is it?" Sayoko replied.
"Why are all the ladies so dressed up including yourself?" he asked with a questioning tone.
Sayoko smirked. "My other fellow receptionists in the upper floors told me the boss and his partners are really handsome~"
Konato started wheezing and Kurai scrunched up her nose in disbelief and disgust, "so all the girls are dolled up for some old, bossy men?"
Sayoko pinched the younger's cheek, "oh? Old bossy men?! You'll see them when they arrive. They're definitely not old. Plus you were incredibly lucky I forgot to tell you not to wear a hoodie today."
The smaller girl massaged her red and painful cheek. "As if I would've done that!" she stuck her tongue out to the older girl, making the young man chuckle and the girl to shake her head in disappointment.
"The feeling I get when he calls me bad names...
They're all worth the shiver he sends down my spine...
Knowing that he's not so wrong after all..."
