Lost Thoughts

She could feel the droplets of water falling on her cold skin. It made a nice contract as the young girl felt its warmth spreading all over her body. She was breathing steamy, hot air into her lungs. And then exhaling it as she almost felt the lack of oxygen.
Her eyes were staring at the white, mosaic floor as her head was dropped down.

Oh, right. She was in the bathroom taking a shower.

Did she fall too deep in my thoughts again?

Apparently, she did.

She moved her body, wondering how long she's been standing in that gesture. As she stepped out, the first thing she checked was the time. The numbers she saw were six and fifty-nine.

Well, she had a lot of time left.

She sat on her untidied bed and dried her hair. As she stood up, she thought about the only person she had. Her grandmother.

She wasn't that old but the young girl hoped she hadn't woken her grandmother up. Sensitive old people you could say.

The young girl opened her closet and grabbed the first two things her fingers touched. A solid black hoodie and grey jeans.

One of the things she didn't care about was fashion. Her closet was filled because of her lovely grandma. If she hadn't insisted, her grandchild would probably go to work with the same outfit every day.

That is correct. As strange as it sounds, her grandmother bought her all her clothes.

Very mature, huh.

One thing Kurai loved about her was that she knew her "taste" in clothes and that she never forced her to go shopping with her, plus she never buys colorful clothes for her grandchild because she knew the instant Kurai realized they're hers, she'll burn them into nothing.

Why? Because they always feel like they're burning her eyes.

Very logical reasoning.

At least that was what she told her grandmother.

Bright colors meant more attention, and she wasn't quite fond of that.

Kurai threw her wet towel on the bed, making it even messier than it looked.

She put on some random underwear she found somewhere in her drawer. Then started tidying up her bed. The young girl didn't want her beloved granny to get a heart attack if she entered her grandchild's room.

She glanced at the clock on the grey wall. This time she saw it showing the numbers seven and six.

She lazily wore her "hardly picked" clothes and looked at herself in the mirror.

The young girl started combing her hair. Her hair reminded me of her mother's long golden brown locks. Except for the fact that hers was a bit shorter. She also got her skin tone from her.

Kurai was too sleepy to look for the hair drier so, after a lot of effort, she styled my hair into two low space buns.

It didn't turn out they way it was supposed to.

'Yeah I kinda look like Himiko Toga right now...' she thought as she remembered the character.

'I mean it's not like I'm any saner than her...'

She glanced at the little photo on her desk. A picture of her mother, father, and a happy younger her. She was six years old when her grandmother took that picture. It was also the last year she got to spend with her parents.

As she finished putting on some glossy lip balm, which was the only thing she did as "makeup", Kurai checked herself one more time, her eyes pitying her weak-looking self.

The young girl had tried to put on make up, but she either looked like an amateur clown or a professional clown.

If she wanted to be honest, she didn't feel comfortable showing off. She has already heard from people that confidence comes with the outfits, but that makes her feel out of her comfort zone.

She was the type that would sleep with long-sleeved shirts. And yes, she has cold blood even if she's hiding in a sweater.

Kurai had other reasons too. She couldn't really remember why, it was more like a faint voice in the back of her head telling her to stay low... they were a little bit creepy, but she never minded them. She didn't want to get fired, so she headed out to the living room.
