The young girl gently cleaned up the axe using a clean, white shroud.
Warm blood drew red lines on her pale skin and turned colder and colder as it trailed down. The bright red stains were slowly turning dark on her clothes.
Once she could see the...
The boy and the girl said goodbye to their older friend and headed to the basement. They both worked there since one of the labs and the hospital's morgue were in the basement.
Konato was a forensic toxicologist. As a simple explanation, he checked on body fluids and tissue samples to identify any drugs, chemicals, or suspicious substances present in the dead person's body.
Their jobs are almost alike. Except for the fact that hers is a bit nastier since shehasto collect those samples, so that he could run the tests.
They parted ways as they headed to the dressing room to change. She already knew that she felt cold so easily, thus, She only slipped on her white coat.
She knew she's not supposed to wear a hoodie under her white coat but she was the one and only forensic pathologist in that huge hospital who also happens to be one of the best in her career, her supervisor didn't really care about her appearance, as long as she did her job well.
Well, it wasn't like anyone would see her in that outfit. Except for the ghosts of the corpses she worked on... and Konato sometimes.
Before the girl shut her locker's door, she grabbed her lovely chocolate milk (or your favorite drink), and then slammed the door shut with a smile on her doll face while imagining her granny's reaction to the little swipe she did.
As the girl was walking towards the lab, she heard the young male calling her, asking her to wait up.
She stopped and watched him run over to her from the beginning of the corridor.
When he caught up with his friend, she smiled at him and turned over then started walking to the lab.
The girl heard him say, "you're probably laughing at me for taking so much time, aren't you?"
Kurai chuckled, "well, you do take a lot of time. Even more than a fifteen-year-old fancy girl."
He widened his black eyes and replied, "oh yeah? Well, you know, being the supervisor's favorite changes a lot of things. You literally just wore that on the hoodie you shouldn't be wearing at work!!"
The girl smirked, "it's not my fault I'm the best!" Her tone held a friendly tease.
He first glared at her but when she smiled wider and playfully wriggled her eyebrows, he couldn't help but scoff and laugh.
The two friends got to the laboratory and the girl went over to the binder storage cabinets.
Konato sat down at one of the tables and continued doing what he was supposed to finish yesterday.
Kurai grabbed one of the binders and took out her corpse's case. She also took the case Konato was supposed to finish a weekago. Then, she put the binder back in the storage.
She called out her colleague. "Hey, Konato-Kun, I swear if you don't finish those tests for code 105 today, I'm gonna kick your butt in front of everyone during shift break!"
The young pathologist didn't like calling out the real names of the corpses, so she simply put a special code for each of them. Not knowing their names makes it easier for her to dissect their bodies. Another weird habit...
Konato was used to it though.
He looked up at her stressed face. "Code 105? But wasn't he one who died yesterday?"
She looked at him with a poker face and replied, "he's been in the morgue since last week, genius! His family's running his funeral tomorrow!"

"That feeling when I know I crossed the line...
And then he tells me to wait in a certain place....
But I go wait in the wrong spot...
The look on his face...
It's all worth the punishment..."
