[Same Day]

The dark crimson drapes swayed apart, revealing a young, brunette. The pianist sauntered across the beige wooden stage. Stephanie slowly moved in her navy blue dress towards the gleaming piano. The ends of the dress moved like soft waves during the middle of the night. Then she sat next to the black, illuminating classical piano. As she waited, her thoughts flooded with music notes and memories from the past few days. Firstly, the music video that was filmed not so long ago. Sadly, it will never be released.

Stephanie grimaced at the thought that the band she has been together for a long time as clashed down. No more My Summer Sensation, just like her relationship with Liam. Their love flew off like a monarch butterfly migrating south so soon after its beautiful arrival.

Stephanie opened to the first page of her composition. After she settled it on the small stand, she took a deep breath before looking into the audience. Yet the jarring thoughts started to dance in her mind as the stage lights landed on her eyes. She was blind right now, but she could still see her memories.

She noticed her remaining cousin, Vanessa, as she rushed to the slammed door. Lesley left. Yet there was no brusk push from the wooden surface. The tall brunette gazed deadly at the beaming window before stepping away.

"I had enough!" Vanessa cried and bolted up to her room.

"Vanessa, hold up!" Stephanie gasped after her.

Once Stephanie stood in front of her cousin's door, Vanessa quickly slammed the door, faster than a flip of a coin. Stephanie smacked the door.

"Please open the door," Stephanie begged, while wanting to yank the door handle open, but it would not twist open. After a long minute of silence, the girl outside the door blinked and breathe in quickly, holding away her temper from erupting out of her. She wanted to knock the door and tell her cousin a thousand times that she never intended for the end of their band to happen. She closed her eyes and slid down to the floor.

When she opened her eyes, the lights dimmed around her, calming her nerves. It created a calming environment, similar to when someone creates a bonfire late at night. Afterwards, she began to shift into a comfortable position on her seat. Yet, as she moved around, the cold ends of the chair brought back the chills of sitting on the freezing bathroom floor that night.

Her throat throbbed as she waited near her cousin's door. Then she began to feel a boiling sensation crawl up her throat, and hurried to the bathroom. She almost collapsed near the porcelain sink. That moment she gripped the outer edges and began to cough warm vomit.

After she finished spitting out the awful weight inside of her, she pulled herself up. The first thing that her eyes set was her reflection in the mirror. She wanted to shake as her black tears slid down her cheeks. But she wiped the shimmering tears. She began to rub her neck when a clash of metal equipment hit the wall next to hers.

The clash of cymbals of the orchestra snapped her out of her memory. The vibrations of the instrument settled her nerves before looking across the stage, where her professor was to announce her as the next performer. Then her professor's microphone slowly buzzed to life.

"Good evening. It would be a great honor to announce "La vida de ilusiones", composed by Stephanie Flores."

There was a soft clap thereafter as the girl rolled her shoulders and carefully placed her fingers on the first keys she would play.

She pressed down on the keys she became dearly familiar with. Then, she could not stop moving her fingers, as they formed her emotions and thoughts into a melody.
