On the eve of the battle, the girls scurried back home from school. Lesley pulled her backpack off her and went to get Brenton to join them. They wanted his for opinions of what they were going to wear for tomorrow. Vanessa followed behind her. They entered his room and noticed him hurrying through his homework.
"Hey, Brenton!" yelled Vanessa as she jumped on his bed. He pushed into the wall and Lesley laughed at the scene. Afterwards, Brenton gave her the glare stare. She attempted to cover her genuine smile. When she finished laughing, Lesley spoke to Brenton. "We're going to dye our hair and buy ourselves an outfit for tomorrow. Do you want to join us and get away from uni torture?"
"Hell yeah! Thank you so much! God heard my prayers! Let's go!" Brenton exclaimed.
Half an hour later they walked in the center of downtown London. The place where all their alterations would occur. They decided to take a cab, instead of looking for a place to park their automobile.
Their first stop was a boutique with the most glamorous outdoor wear. Lesley swiftly headed to the store looking for something that would fit her mood tomorrow. The girls scanned around the leather jackets, trench and cadet coats. But when Lesley's eyes landed on a blazing purple leather jacket, Stephanie and Vanessa eyed her with an expression of "Really? You already have twenty leather jackets".
"You should change your look," Vanessa reasoned.
"Fine! But if I die of coldness in the middle of our performance you will be the one to blame," Lesley said sarcastically, pointing at her cousin. She knew that 11 degree Celsius (55 degree Fahrenheit) was nothing compared back home in Minnesota.
"How about we look somewhere else?" suggested Stephanie, almost walking out the fancy glass doors.
"Vanessa, you'll look great with this black leather jacket," said Brenton. Vanessa had been staring at it moments before, when Stephanie was about to walk out.
"Why not?" Vanessa smiled and shrugged her shoulders as she collected the jacket from the racks. She paced towards the mirror and wore it on.
Lesley stood beside her and analyzed the image in-front of them. She couldn't believe how beautiful Vanessa looked on with that jacket. The collar was adjustable, in case if it was too hot or cold. The zipper shined when the lights hit it. Stephanie stole a glimpse and nodded in approval.
"That'd look great with a dress or something," Stephanie said as she stood beside Brenton, who was now next to Lesley.
"I'm taking it! Thanks Brenton." Vanessa beamed as she strolled across to pay for it. After paying and collecting the navy blue bag from the counter they exited the store. Then they crossed the street and headed to a shop that was selling clothes for all styles. That was perfect for them.
The aroma of new clothes lingered in their minds. Would this be like when they start shopping at the boutiques in Paris, Tokyo and New York? It was similar now that they were in London.
Lesley took quick strolls across the shop when she noticed something mesmerizing. She stopped momentarily to think. Would this define me as I performer? Lesley thought as she picked up a pair of black leather pants. The girl who has to wear leather. But then she remembered her conversation with Niall last Saturday, when she thought that she was wearing the girliest dress at the wedding. The dark blue dress with lilac prints and black heels. (Somewhat not...)
"You look wonderful, with or without a rocker look," he said before twirling her.
She smiled and never stopped staring at his crystal water eyes. Those electric eyes, Lesley thought.
