As of Monday, none of the three cousins have met any of the boys. The Deejay of the band worked extra shifts at Retrouvailles. At the small coffee shop the tall brunette wiped away the hazel-brown circles on each, empty table. Her hands began flush from scrubbing the dry coffee residue. When she finished a table she maundered to the next table. After cleaning all the unoccupied marble tables she returned behind the counter to wash her hands. Right next to her was a redhead who worked at the cashier register.

Vanessa nodded to herself, mentally checking off her duties. The next task was to make fresh coffee brew. She held a laptop sized bag full of harvest coffee beans and emptied it into the shiny copper machine.

She glanced back at her co-worker taking in orders hurriedly as if she worked in Wall Street. Vanessa's dark pupils began to dilate when she noticed the line extend towards the glass entrance. She wanted to stay and help with preparing the orders, but the redhead huffed at her and some customers began to scrutinize her. She got the memo and drifted into the crowded tables. While her eyes wanted to ignore the gazes, her eyes couldn't stop from observing them. As the brunette briskly moved around chairs, tables and people she spotted a young man with a black fedora hat, but stopped when she bumped into a white oak table. Her pony tail clashed into her eyes and groaned.

Luckily, Vanessa arrived at the table next to the massive window. She stared at the customer who was reading the newspaper. So she collected her notepad and pen from her apron and coughed.

"Ahem." She interjected his moment of solitude.

The bland paper swished and its edges crumbled as the customer noticed her presence.

Her eyes grew wider as she recognized the dirty blonde guy. "What--?"

"Vanessa?" The male voice croaked. His blue eyes shined at her. "I can't believe its you!" He got up to hug her. "Ha! You definitely look like a nerd!"

Vanessa began to soften up from a hard day at work. Her dark brown eyes steadily shined into a hazel glow through her thick-rimmed glasses.

"You're very funny, Brenton," she nudge his shoulders.

The brunette glanced back at the redhead who held five fingers, five minutes to talk. Vanessa nodded when she noticed two more workers arrive. So she sat down while Brenton returned to his seat.

"So why are you hiding from everyone?" He muttered.

"Brenton, it's not that." Her voice began to lower.

"C'mon Vanessa, you're lying. You don't want to see her because, let's face it, the band is over." He nodded when she didn't met his eyes.

"I understand you're upset that the band broke up, but you need to talk her... And him."

Her bare arms began to shiver and her fingers trembled; he was the last person she wanted to think of.

When she didn't answer, he added, "I believe you're ignoring me because I'm friends with Harry." He sighed and stared out the window.

Vanessa began to stare at the university's newspaper; the edges folded carelessly on the table. Her eyes picked up a few words: The break up of uni's #1 band, My Summer Sensation... The break up occurred during the filming of their music video... Featuring One Direction and...

She kept reading those words, words that brought back memories from that night.

Stephanie waited next to Vanessa in the unlit hallway of their house. The youngest cousin sat down on the floor, while she explained what Carol told about the guys leaving them. When Stephanie was about to kneel down to pat her cousin's back, Lesley jerked the door open. She stepped with a smile on her face. But the tips of her lips slowly drop as she noticed her cousin sitting against the wall. Her face grew whiter as she stared down. She was about to kneel down, to hug her cousin, but her new bandmates began to tell at her to hurry up. Lesley straightened her back and Vanessa shot her dark eyes at her.
