Liam slid his phone back to his trench coat pocket. He hurried inside the hotel he was staying for the week, before flying away for a small tour. When Liam got back to his hotel room early in the morning, he had the urge to drink. He walked back and fourth in the spacious living room. Any one who dreamt of having this kind of lifestyle would smack him for taking it for granted. The white leather couches seemed to not please him as he wanted to calm himself with the small trips. Unfortunately his thoughts were on a simple drink: I could be drinking right now.... But I want to think about her.
Luckily, he told the hotel staff to remove any alcoholic drinks. Now that the walk seemed to change his thoughts, he focused what was told on Sunday afternoon. The boys told him that My Summer Sensation needed to know that they were competing against Common Colors. They knew that they have been busy with college and were unaware of the possible obstacles in the battle of the bands.
After his friends had bought the tickets that very Sunday, they heard the demo song the girls so that people could be familiar to what kind of music they play. When Harry, Zayn, Niall and Liam heard it they could not process their thoughts. A few minutes ago he attempted to speak to Stephanie. There was no luck. She now knew that he lied to her. Sadly, that pumped his heart uncontrollably. He wanted to stay away from her so that he could not let any of his fame interfere with her career. I can't let what happened between Sophia and I to repeat itself with Stephanie. I support her and the band, but after listening to Common Colors sing on Sunday I somehow go for both bands. Unbelievable what bands could do to him.
Liam stood up and wanted to call her again. Instead he felt that he had to wait on the day of the battle.

Vanessa, Stephanie and Lesley walked quickly into their house. They all finished up with class, internship and work for the day. When they finally rested in the living room Vanessa asked, "How did they find us at the coffee shop?" It was one of those question a stalker would know.
Lesley answered, "I don't know. But did you see how many people had the magazine with Louis's wedding?"
"Of course I did." Vanessa intended to snarl her words to those paparazzi. "It was inevitable from the beginning that this would happen."
Stephanie spoke for the first time. "What did it say?"
"I heard some people in my drawing class talk about it. Someone said that it was about how One Direction saw how talented we are. Another person snickered a comment about how my talent was not the only thing that added to our exposure as a band. Lesley air quote."
"Then they saw that I plugged my headphones to finishing the rough draft of my drawing. Someone said that I gave myself to them."
"What the fuck?" Vanessa bellowed. "Some think we do that kind of stuff?"
"People just think like that." Lesley looked concerned. "Let's just get ready for the battle... Did you call Jared?"
"Yeah, right when Stephanie left for her internship through the back of the building... I called him. It was the most embarrassing thing I've done in my life. He'll be here at 3:30."
The door opened. Brenton had his hair soaked a little. His gray t-shirt had dark areas where his abs were located. Anyway, he came back from jogging. His curls dropped longer in his hair. His frown added to their troubles. As he approached Lesley he pulled out the U of L's student paper. The title read My Sad Sensation.
Stephanie started reading. "'My Summer Sensation seemed to be who they are as a band because One Direction. ... In those days, Zayn Malik had an interview with a One Direction Magazine*, Vas Happenin'?!. He mentioned that they have been working a new album and perhaps writing some stuff with the band The 1975. Then he was asked what kinds of themes would appear, Zayn said, "I can't say much. I believing in love and I have learned from it. It goes back to the girl group, My Summer Sensation, Liam and Harry had been meeting this past year. ... Sadly, they've fallen for them."'"
"'... Last Saturday, the girls performed as special guests in Louis's and Eleanor's wedding. Some would say that performing there would be a dream made true for the girls. Vanessa Flores, a vocalist and remixer from My Summer Sensation, is currently dating the twenty year-old, Harry Styles. The only fame that she will be experiencing is Harry Style's new girlfriend. Another member of My Summer Sensation, Stephanie Flores--vocalist, guitarist, saxophonist, and pianist--had an infatuation for Liam Payne. At the day of Louis wedding he was interviewed. Liam claimed "it was just a simple music collaboration and learning experience" when he went with her to Madrid. The relationship sounds like it was none existing. Perhaps she got her way with him now that My Summer Sensation is well known in London.
"'The same thing could be said about vocalist and guitarist Lesley Maceda. According to Now!** magazine, Niall Horan was spotted with her the night of University of London's Annual Music Auction. It led to a fast hookup, that left her looking for more. ... This upcoming Friday, My Summer Sensation will be performing at London's Battle and Bands. Good thing these girls have at least one of the lads for support.'" Stephanie glanced up at all three pairs of eyes.
"Carol!" Lesley screamed infuriated. "How could she write this?!"
Stephanie combed her hair repeatedly. Even after her fight with Liam had happened, did Carol really needed to tell the world about it? The good thing it was not specific. Which meant that Carol was currently looking for more.
Brenton decided to sit by Stephanie, "There are tens and thousands other magazines reporting great comments about you guys. Don't let this article let you down. It was just published this morning, after the buzz of the wedding." Apparently someone was snooping around! Stephanie thought.
Stephanie stood up. "This is what we're going to do. Right when Jared shows up with his drums we're practicing nonstop. We have to prove them that we are pure talented, do not need the assistance of the boys--which we haven't used them at all--and that I can cope performing on Friday."
"Kicking ass! I love it!" Lesley jumped and started setting up the equipment for practice. She pulled the amplifier and microphone stand. Then started to untangle the cords. Vanessa connected them in place afterwards.
"I think we should burn this article. I can smell the horrible lies of Ms. Carol Jones," suggested Vanessa.
Stephanie, detesting the presence of the article, crumpled it up and threw in their chimney. Once the flames did their magnificent magic. The girls retuned to their seats for the regular sound check and guitar tuning.
Then the unfriendly bell ring echoed throughout the house twice.
