Hi guys! It has been so long since I last updated. And I'm back! I hope you enjoy this chapter. I have been so busy with my schoolwork lately, and we have a week of no classes because we just finished our first semester of the year. I am in grade 12 by the way. Please feel free to comment! I always love to read it. And also, don't be shy to criticize my work. I will use it as a guide to be even better!

PS. I've decided to do a MAJOR REVISE (chapter1 - chapter25) so expect to experience improved grammar, new scenes, and new perceptions(if you've decided to read this all over again)! But if you're new, then kindly disregard this note. ENJOY!!!(★‿★)

CHAPTER 7

"If you need me, I'm just with Mrs. Krause." Sandra gave them a warm smile. She sighed when they didn't respond.

"All right, I'll head in first..." she stated before she took a step inside the inn, leaving the two on their own with an awkward atmosphere. They were still near the same storage room from earlier, where Sakura waited for at least thirty minutes after Mikasa left, only to find the two adults with slightly reddened puffy eyes.

Hearing the fading footsteps of Sandra as every second passed by, Sakura kept her gaze on the ground while finding the courage to speak. She couldn't look at the man.

What would she say first? And how could she start when she could feel his gaze directly at her?

"I thought you had something to say to me. Well?" Sakura could feel her heart pounding really hard in her chest as she saw him cross his arms over his chest from her peripheral vision.

'Wait! I'm trying!' She thought with uneasiness, hands clasped behind her while playing with her fingers in nervousness.

"Well?" Alexis stared at her impatiently. The girl really looked distressed. So he waited. But still, she wasn't saying anything. He sighed.

"If you're not gonna say anything--" He said, but cut himself off when he saw her drop herself to the ground. His eyes widened as he contemplated if he should help her stand or not. "H-hey.." he stuttered.

"I-I'm really, really sorry... It's all my fault." Sakura whispered under her breath. "I can understand if you can't forgive me. But we came here because I just want to tell you that I am really grateful that you still decided to get me out of that place... I know that it sounds ridiculous to hear me saying that I should be dead instead of them and thanking you to save my life at the same time... "

Sakura closed her eyes tightly as she stated her deepest apology. Her knees were touching the ground, and her forehead was positioned just above her hands. The tears in her eyes are starting to build again. She gulped as she nervously awaited his reply.

She meant every word that she had just said, deep in her heart. She suddenly remembered what Levi said to her yesterday... that Alexis didn't want to see her alive and kicking while his teammates were buried underground. She fully understands what that means, but she can't act like nothing happened. At the very least, she wants to say sorry to those who lost their friend.

"H-hey stand up. What the hell are you doing on the ground?" His brows furrowed at the girl's posture. It's his first time experiencing something like this. Just what in the world was she thinking? She didn't need to kneel just to say sorry, right? He thought.

"M-my body just move..." The sentence that have been her biggest excuse since the beginning. They can't blame her though, she has amnesia' after all.

"Stand up. It feels so weird to talk with you when you're like that." Sakura blinked her tears away and pushed her body up to kneel. She stopped there, her gaze still on the floor.
