CHAPTER 1
She's scared.
She hadn't been this scared ever since she became a kunoichi. She hadn't been this scared when they went on their first ever mission to the Land of Waves. She hadn't been this scared either when she repeatedly begged Sasuke not to leave the village. Generally, she hadn't been this scared even when she was badly hurt on every one of those dangerous missions.
But now...
She tried to force her tears back into her eyes and focused on her work. She needs to do it fast. She must not fail. Because if she didn't succeed, she wouldn't forgive herself. Her heart racing and pounding hard in her chest, she breathed air again.
Sakura bent down for the nth time and placed her lips on Naruto's as she continued to give him CPR while pumping his heart with her arms slid from his inside, mimicking a normal person's heartbeat. She could even see her hand glowing green from the cut she had made.
A couple of minutes had already passed since Gaara took her with them using his sand, heading to where Minato and Kakashi were, but there were still no responses. However, she didn't stop. She's tired and can feel her chakra decreasing every second by reviving her friend using her medical ninjutsu. Not to mention she's almost drained during those fights with the others.
Her eyes narrowed from frustration and fear when his body was still not responding, even with all her help. Pulling back her lips, she shakily draws a breath only to do it all over again. She couldn't let Naruto die. Not here. Not when everyone is depending on him, in the middle of the war.
'Please...please don't you dare die on me, Naruto!'
Sakura's breathing was stifled by the thought, and she suppressed her tears. She knew. She already knew that there was no more life in him, but she kept going because she couldn't take the fact that Naruto, their ball of sunshine, their hero... their friend, was already dead. Even when Gaara told her that there was no other way to save Naruto but to transfer Kurama's other half from his father, she didn't want to just stare at him and do nothing. She knew that these were of no use... but she tried anyway.
She is so scared... She doesn't want to lose him. No more...
Suddenly, all her memories of him flashed in her mind; every happy moment, their bickering, every sad day, everything. Why? Why did she think of these? 'He'll live, right? There is still a chance! He'll live!' She shook her head from the distraction. 'Focus Sakura!' She added. Then she bit the insides of her cheeks to regain her full attention. But not a second later, when she felt an enormous chakra that she had never felt before.
"My, my, he's already dead? What a shame." Her eyes widened in fear at the voice. Uchiha Madara... He was smirking at them while he followed their pace with his floating ability. The thundering in her chest doubled as she scanned the man's new features. He now has white hair, pale skin with a scale-like texture, especially the sole rinnegan in his eye.
