Story behind the uno cards:
As you know, my girl Annabeth is awesome at uno. You also know that she has some serious confidence issues. The reason Katie brings uno cards everywhere, is because just winning a simple game can boost her confidence, and make her feel good at something. :D

Annabeth's Pov

I was allowed to be released early, and I was more than grateful. The hospital bed was so stiff, and it annoyed the crap out of me. Jessica would be released in a few days, which I was glad for. The casting director was letting me do auditions, since I didn't get a chance. Good ol' Elle, making complaints to the school. We were all in Katie's car.

I reached into my bag, and pulled out a CD that I had stolen from the doctor. Hopefully he wouldn't notice.

"This is awkward." Barrett stated. She was right, nobody was talking to one another.

"Well uh, I found something else on the doctors desk. I was thinking we could listen to it." I told them.

"Uh, what is it? You cannot be looking at things like that magazine." Barrett strictly said.

"No no, it's nothing like that. Here, does this make you all nostalgic?" I asked, handing Barrett the CD.

Barrett looked at it, and said, "No, this is actually before my time. It is a winner though." She put the CD into the CD player built in Katie's car. It started playing, and it wasn't as horrible as I thought it would be.

"You know, this isn't that bad. Can you turn it up?" I asked.

"Sure." Katie responded.

I turned to Elle, who was sleeping in the backseat. She had a book in her hands, that she must've fallen asleep reading. I carefully took the book out of her hands. I opened the book to where the bookmark was, and began reading the page.

I was in the middle of the second paragraph, when I saw a word I didn't recognize.

"What does gratitude mean? Like, grating something like cheese with attitude?" I asked.

Katie and Barrett giggled uncontrollably, though I couldn't understand why. I had a reasonable question.

"No silly, it means to show appreciation." Katie explained.

"OHHHHH. I see." I began reading again.

Time skip to next day, because nobody wants to read the boring stuff.

I was woke up to the sound of singing in the living room. It sounded like Barrett, Evan, and Elle, but they were purposely were trying to sound bad. It made me giggle, as I carefully moved my broken arm to stand up. I stretched, and put on a pair of black leggings, and a yellow and pink striped tank top. I put my hair up into a ponytail, and walked out.

"Woah, Annie you look so different with short hair!" Evan exclaimed.

"Mhm, now what's going on?" I asked.

"Oh, we were just making fun of Ryan." Elle explained.

"Pfft, he doesn't sound that bad." I said, walking into the kitchen. I grabbed a bagel, and took a bite out of it.

"No, we were making fun of that one time where he was drun-" Evan started, but quickly got slapped in the face by Barrett before he could finish.

"We were all a little..uh...out of it that day. It was an after party for the opening night of Heathers, and the people kept giving us more to drink." Barrett explained.
