Annabeth's Pov

It had been a few days after Elle had found Cat, and she was already being adopted. Ryan had left her a puzzle, so she could find us. We were on the New World Stages, with presents and cards. It was a sort of surprise party for her. Cat didn't know she was being adopted by Elle, so they wanted to make it as memorable as possible. I was giving her a necklace, that had a heart keychain.

I would never admit it, but I was really jealous. My arrival wasn't this big. She was only a few months younger, why did that mean she got all the attention? I shook off the thought. She should have her time to shine. Then again, why should it effect me? I gripped onto Barrett and Alice's hand. Elle, Jessica, Katie, Ryan, and Evan were obsessed with Cat. Jon was usually busy, but even he was here to support Cat. He left as soon as he met me.

Am I really that boring?

We stood there for about a minute, until Cat came in holding one of the clues that was on paper. The entire cast yelled surprise, and I said it unenthusiastically. I didn't dislike Cat, we had actually grown to be quite close, but it was really hard to feel this unwanted. Elle and Jessica barely spoke to me anymore.

Cat laughed, "Woah, it's not even my birthday yet!"

Cat kept staring and smiling at the presents like an idiot. Then Ryan spoke up.

"YoU got more coming for your birthday, kiddo." Ryan said.

Cat went to hug him, and then she began opening the cast presents.

The cast were fighting like cats and dogs trying to get Cat to open their presents. Jessica was yelling at Evan, and Ryan was screeching, "mIne fIrSt." Cat blinked, and took Ryan's gift.

Cat had finished opening all of the gifts except Elle and I's. I handed her the small gift, and she ripped open the wrapping paper. She gasped, as she took the necklace out of the box and put it around her neck. She attacked me with a hug, and whispered "Thank you." I hugged her back, as she pulled back. She stared at Elle for a split second, and then went to open her gift. She again, ripped open the wrapping paper. Inside of the box were the adoption papers.

Cat squealed, and everyone, (including myself) giggled. Cat scammed quickly over the papers.

"Catlynn Sunshine McLemore? Nice." Cat said happily. She gave everyone a quick hug.
