Y/N's POV
Here I sit, most pathetically on my couch, balling my eyes out before a Netflix rom-com with a semi-cold wine glass filled with Mountain Dew. "Why, cruel world, why?" I sob, guzzling the soda down.
"Darling?"
There was light. Wait a second, there was no light before. And when did he get here?
"Darling, are you alright?" Loki asked me, kneeling before my couch-potato state. "YOU JERK!" I howled, hitting him with the nearby pillow. "You ruined my Christmas," I cried into my muffling fuzzy blanket.
Loki sighed. "Don't be dramatic. You knew I had to be away for -"
"DON'T TELL ME WHAT I KNOW!" I screeched, my face abandoning the tear-soaked blanket. "You are the one who knows how important Christmas is to me! You stood me up like a jerk!" I continued to assault him with my couch pillow.
Loki ripped the pillow from my grasp and threw it aside. He seemed to be growing more irritant with each blow from the pillow. "I said I was sorry."
"Sorry?" I cupped my ear with one hand sarcastically. "Sorry is just a word, you imbecile!"
"Y/N, I don't want to fight about this. I love you," he said firmly, a look of determination in his green eyes. "Is that a wine glass?"
I exhaled my anger. "It's called being eccentric! Look it up! And if you loved me, you wouldn't have missed our Christmas."
"It was four days ago!" he argued with a considerable loss of patience. "When are you going to let this go?"
I could feel my heart shatter within my chest. Maybe I was being dramatic.
I didn't care.
Tearing the engagement ring off of my finger, I threw it in his face, watching it bounce off of his forehead. "If you aren't willing to even show up for what matters most to me, then you don't deserve to marry me," I hissed with watery eyes and a shaky voice. I stood, wrapping my tear-soaked blanket around my figure like a burrito, storming up to my room, and slamming the door behind me.
Once it was locked, I slid against the door until I met the floor.
What did I just do?
Loki's POV, One Day Later
"Brother?"
"Thor," I replied.
"Where's your fiancée?" Thor looked around.
"Gone." The hopeless word felt strange coming from my mouth.
"Gone? What happened?" he sat beside me.
"I missed one little mortal holiday, and now the wedding is off." I laughed suddenly. "What was I thinking, proposing to some mewling mortal?"
"Well, you loved her, right?" Thor asked, his big mouth filled with bites of a poptart.
"Of course I did, you oaf! I just..." I paused. "I don't know how to make it up to her."
Thor patted my back. "You'll figure it out, little brother. You've always been clever." He stood, snatching his box of strawberry poptarts. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a date."
I snapped out of my miserable reality for half of a second. "A what?"
"You heard me," Thor smirked.
"With who? And don't tell me you've put a wig on a new box of poptarts."
"No," he said, dragging out the only syllable in the word. "I'm going on a date with Valkyrie."
