Y/N's POV
Middle school sucks.
I hate junior high so much. I've deemed it the most awkward, the most confusing, and the most disgusting time of my life thus far.
My father, Thor, was on some important Avengers mission for work, so I've been spending more time with Loki. Not that I'm complaining in the slightest - he's my best friend.
Today isn't sucky. Uncle Loki picked me up from school. We were going to the bookstore, a favorite location of ours.
"So I have to write this persuasive piece for English, right? It has to be a minimum of three paragraphs - each one with five-to-seven sentences each. We have to write about whether or not we believe in the death penalty. Doesn't that sound fun?"
Loki smiled at my genuine excitement. He seemed to be happy when I feel happy. "I can't wait to read what you come up with, Darling."

I set my bag down in the cozy chair, placing my hot caramel latte on the table beside Loki. "I'll be right back."
Once I was in the bathroom stall, I was feeling oddly nervous. Something was definitely off, but I couldn't tell what it was.
Oh.
Washing my hands hastily, I tried to walk back to our table calmly.
I failed.
"We need to go, now." I said quietly, slinging my backpack over my shoulder.
Loki frowned. "Darling, we just got here. Is everything okay?"
"Please, just take me home," I begged, my eyes watering slightly.
Loki nodded. "Of course," he said, teleporting us to the car.
I felt tense. My entire world had just shifted - and I was with my uncle when it happened??
Uncle Loki pulled up to the tower's garage. I ran out of the car, leaving my latte behind. Thankfully, I hadn't bled through my jeans yet.
I raced upstairs to the bathroom. It was rumored that women on Asgard didn't get periods, so I knew Sif didn't have anything. Miss Natasha didn't have them either, but Pepper probably kept some in here somewhere.
Bingo.
Loki waited outside the bathroom, my latte in his right hand. "You forgot this."
"Thanks," I mumbled.
He teleported us to my messy room. He sat on the bed beside me, kissing my forehead in a worried manner. "Love, please, tell me. Are you okay?"
These must be what crazy hormones feel like. "I'm sorry," I whispered, a few stray tears making an appearance.
Loki wiped them away with his thumb. "For what, sweetheart?"
I looked away. "I ... I guess I'm a woman now."
Loki stared at me for a moment. I think it took him a second to comprehend what I had just told him. "Oh, Darling." He gathered me up in his arms, pulling me to his chest. "I'm sorry. I should have realized - do you need anything? What do you need?" he asked, gazing into my eyes.
"I ... I don't know," I admitted.
He nodded. "I love you, Y/N. Don't ever forget that."
I smiled. "I love you too, Uncle Loki."
He kissed my head softly, rocking back and forth the slightest bit.
Yes, middle school does suck. Luckily, I'm thirteen, and I have an awesome uncle to help me get through it all.
I wouldn't trade him for the world.
