When You Can't Sleep... (Loki x Reader)

Author's Note: 

I didn't sleep well last night, but for different reasons than Y/N. I need Loki. 

Also, this is longer than what I usually write - over 1300 words! Enjoy!

*This takes place on Asgard* 

*Oh, and infinity war never happened :) I don't really know when this takes place in the MCU...*

- You are a midgardian. 

- Loki fell in love with you about a year ago. 

- His brother, Thor, decided it would be good to have him meet the Avengers. You know, officially.

- They really didn't get much of a chance to introduce themselves after New York happened. 

- All of the avengers were skeptical, but Loki managed. 

- That's when he met you. 

- You are prone to severe insomnia and nightmares. 

- Loki doesn't know about this. 

- At least, not yet. 

- You agreed to visit Asgard, but you quickly realized you belonged there instead of earth. 

- Everyone was so nice. 

- And because Loki practically worshipped you, you were treated like a goddess, regardless of your midgardian heritage. 

- You firmly believed in being married before sexual intimacy. 

- Being the true gentleman he is, Loki doesn't mind at all. 

- You have your own spacious room. 

- However...

- Loki's chambers are your favorite. 

- You often will visit him for morning cuddles. 

- Most people would not know it, but Loki is very affectionate with his mortal. 

- But, as I said, he is a true gentleman. 

- You've had a rough past. 

- Loki knows a little about that, but not nearly as much as he should. 

- You rarely sleep. 

- In fact, when you do sleep, you have the worst nightmares. 

- They feel too real. 

- So, almost stupidly, you decide to swear off sleep altogether. 

- You drink too much caffeine. 

- You begin to look ill after a day or two. 

- Loki noticed. 

- "Are you alright, my sweet girl?" 

- "Fine, my prince. I haven't had enough coffee yet." 

- He doesn't believe you.  

- He's the god of LIES, for crying out loud. 

- Your mortal body needed much more sleep than he did. 

- You know, being a frost giant and a god. 

- Your sleep deprivation began to show - badly. 

- And we all know how mischievous he is. 

- So, naturally, Loki decides to see what you've been hiding. 

- "Goodnight, princess," Loki murmured against your lips.
