Imagine celebrating Christmas with Loki.
Loki's POV
"What are you doing?" I asked in utter confusion. Y/N giggled. "I'm decorating the Christmas tree!" she replied. I raised an eyebrow. "Again, I ask you, what are you doing?" Y/N smiled, and returned to the plastic, red tote labeled Christmas. "Surely you've heard of Christmas before?" she sent me a questioning look. "Of course I've heard of Christmas," I replied. "But who puts trees in their house?" "Most people do, Loki." Y/N continued to put ornaments on the Christmas tree. "Have a little holiday spirit, Loki. It is Christmas Eve, after all."
"I suppose," I muttered with a sigh. "What's that little thing on the shelf over there?"
"Oh, you mean the elf on the shelf? That's Bling. He's been in my family for years," Y/N gestured to the "elf" sitting on the shelf.
I stared at it. "Darling, this is a plastic toy," I said, reaching over to grab it. "No!" she cried. "You can't touch Bling! He'll lose his Christmas magic!"
I chuckled, withdrawing my hand from Bling's direction. "You're so silly, darling."
Y/N blushed. The oven went off, making Y/N rush to the kitchen. "The Christmas cookies!" she exclaimed. I followed her, making sure she didn't burn herself while removing the cookies from the oven.
"The frosting is ready - I just need to wait until the cookies have cooled..." Y/N paced frantically around her messy kitchen. "Where did the apple pie go?" Y/N paused. "I swear, if Stark ate it again..." she growled.
"It's right in front of you, darling," I said with a chuckle.
"Oh." Y/N blushed. "Thank you."
Y/N's POV
"Darling?"
"Yes, Loki?" I turned to face him.
"What is this?" He asked with an innocent expression, pointing above my head. "That's mistletoe," I answered. Loki took a step towards me. "And what is its purpose?" I felt a slight warmth creep up towards my face. "It's a decoration." I could sense Loki standing behind me, with his cool breath against my neck. "What more than that?" he whispered in my ear.
Before I could comprehend what was happening, Loki's lips were on mine, his kiss sending shivers down my spine. After a moment, Loki pulled away, letting me catch my breath. "I know what mistletoe is," he smirked. "I just wanted a reason to kiss you."
I blushed madly. "I don't think that should be your only reason to kiss me," I said. Loki nodded. "I quite agree."
Later that night, I cuddled up next to my boyfriend. The cozy fire crackled once more, soothing all of my Christmas anxieties. "I love you, darling," Loki whispered, watching the snow fall outside. "I love you, too," I smiled, sipping my homemade hot chocolate. "I love Christmas," I admitted. Loki chuckled. "I can tell." "I got you a present," I said, handing a surprised Loki my gift. Loki gently unwrapped the paper, and smiled upon seeing a large book resting in his hands. "A book of Shakespeare's sonnets? Oh, darling," Loki kissed my forehead happily. "Thank you, dearest. I don't think I've read them all yet." "Yet," I said with a smile. "As a matter of fact, I got you something, too. Close your eyes." I did as I was told. "You may open them now," Loki informed me.
In his hands was a beautiful flower, sparkling with a magical glow. "I picked this flower for you. It's from one of Asgard's most beautiful gardens - I enchanted it with my magic. It will never die, and I hope it will always remind you of how I see you - beautifully and majestically timeless."
Tears pricked the corners of my eyes. "Thank you, Loki. Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas, darling."
