*Third Person POV*

"Only one more week," Y/N mumbled to the unforgiving mirror.

She didn't want to go back, even though she was so close to being done with middle school. It was exams week, the worst week of the entire year. Middle school exams aren't too bad in her experience, but still

Slinging her backpack over her should, Y/N dragged her weary self down the stairs. Loki was waiting at the bottom of the stairs, an eyebrow quirked. "One more week, Darling."

Y/N forced a polite smile to her uncle, but the god of lies knew better than that. He decided to let it go - for now. "Are you ready to go?"

"Yeah," Y/N mumbled without enthusiam. Loki conjured the car keys to his dominant hand - and just like that, the week began.

"I figured we could stop and get you some coffee," Loki offered once they were in the car.

"I thought coffee stunted my growth, and I have no chances of finding a man if I remain to be this short?" Y/N countered sarcastically.

Loki laughed, pulling into Tim Horton's. "You are adorable."

'Great,' Y/N thought. 'Adorable is exactly what I'm going for.'

Loki had read his niece's mind like the nosy snowflake he is, but he was already ordering a medium coffee (just as Y/N likes it!), hot tea for himself, and of course donuts.

"Thank you," Y/N said quietly, accepting her donut.

"Of course, sweetheart. Anything for my princess."

That was the better part of Y/N's day.

Y/N discovered her period came early during second hour, which happened to be gym. That's always fun.

Around lunch, her bluetooth headphones died, so she had to listen to the idiots around her talk like animals.

'Only two more hours,' Y/N told herself. 'Then you can tell Uncle Loki all about it.'

Fifth period was Algebra I. About halfway through math, Y/N asked to use the bathroom, which the underpaid teacher happily obliged.

The hand dryer shut off automatically, but Y/N was busy fixing her frizzy hair. Once the noise from the hand dryer was gone, she heard an all too familiar voice chattering in the hallway.

It was Queen Liv. She wasn't actually a queen, but everyone around the school awarded her the title as she was voted the most popular for two years in a row.

"Have you seen Y/N's hair today?" Liv asked her friends in a disgusted tone.

"No, why?" a friend asked eagerly.

"She's so pathetic. The poor thing has clearly never heard of conditioner... I heard her only friend is her uncle. What a loser!" Liv laughed.

Tears threatened to form in Y/N's eyes, but she forced herself to be strong. These girls were not worthy of her tears - but the words still hurt.

Liv entered the girl's bathroom with her minions trailing behind her. Her lips twisted into a cruel smile, and her high-pitched fake voice bounced off the walls. "Hey, Y/N! I love your hair."

"Save it," Y/N nearly growled, her father's inherited temper showing through her features. She attempted to walk past the girls, but Liv stepped in her way purposefully.
