"Y/N," Loki said quietly.
"No."
"Y/N, it's going to be okay-"
"Don't lie to me," Y/N choked, her voice cracking with emotion. "I don't need your pity."
Loki stared silently at the mess of a woman before him on the floor. "I am not lying, and I do not pity you," he stated calmly.
Y/N laughed weakly. "Oh, yeah? Well I feel downright pathetic. I am a grown woman, lying on the floor in the same clothes I wore two days ago, and I can't stop crying-" she paused as her face scrunched up in emotion, "- and I can't be strong to save myself!"
Loki knelt beside his friend. "You don't have to be strong."
"Yes I do!" she screeched. "I have to be - I... I have to be okay..."
He sighed. "You don't have to be okay. You will be okay."
"She's gone..." Y/N whimpered.
"She isn't gone, love."
"She's my person!" the girl cried. "How can I be okay without my person?"
Loki began to play with Y/N's tangled hair that (in her opinion) really needed to be washed. "You have other persons."
"Like who?"
"Like me."
They stayed silent for a few moments.
"What if she forgets about me?" Y/N asked.
"She won't forget, love."
"What if she finds someone better than me?"
"Darling."
"What if she realizes how awful I am...? What if she leaves me - oh... what if she -"
"Darling, stop it."
"What if I lose her, Loki?"
Loki leaned down and kissed Y/N's forehead. "You are not going to lose her, I am sure of it."
"What if you're wrong?"
"I'm not wrong, sweetness. I love to be right, remember?"
His response made her smile for half of a moment. "There you go, Darling." Loki gathered her up in his arms and held her shaking figure. "We're going to make it through this. You will see her again."
"Promise?"
"I promise, love."
