16//The Test

Slide into the car, getting a whiff of the familiar scent Jack sighs. "Okay that was quick." He buckles his seat.
"Did everything went well?" Venus she asked.

"Mhm.  Are you okay now?"  Jack says as he rubs her shoulders. It's been a month since she's properly seen Cesar after she kissed him. She's been so busy with her job and being a mom that she's hasn't had time to get a paternity test, she also had to wait at least nine weeks until she was able to do so, and it didn't help that Cesar keeps texting her phone, pressuring her to get one before "he exposed the truth." It honestly pissed her off he was more wanting to burst his bubble than caring about her feelings.

She hoped this baby was Jacks because it would be easier to tell Cesar than to break the news to Jack. She didn't realize she was crying when Jack wipes her tears. "Baby what's wrong?"
"I kissed Cesar." He confessed.
"What do you mean? Why would you do that?"
"I mean...... he kissed me, I just- I kissed him back."
"Why you you do that? Did you fuck him?" He says sharply.
"What?! I'm pregnant!"
"Do you  have feelings for him? Do you have feelings for me?"
"I do have feeling for you Jack. I just, my feelings for Cesar are a little stronger?" Jack has furrow his brows in confusion. "We have a kid together Jack!" She continues.
"We do too!" Then his eyes widen, and unbuckles his seat belt. "Is this why you wanted to take a paternity test?" He ask, her face says it all. "Son of a bitch. You did fuck him!"
"Not when we were together!"

"Why should I believe you?" Jack opens the door and hops out the car.
"Jack! Where are you going?! Jack!" She yells as he walks off into the distance.

"Maybe he wanted to get some air. What were you guys fighting about anyway?" Becca asks as Vee huffs loudly as she leans over the kitchen island.
"I made him take a Paternity test."

"Why would you do that? He's the dad... right?"  Staring at Vee she could see the sadness on her face. "Then who is?.....Cesar?! What the fuck is wrong with you Venus?!"
"Woah stop yelling at her Becca!" Ben steps in from the living room.
"She ruined the best relationship shes ever had. He's such a good guy and such a good father figure to Mercy." She goes on.
"Mercy has a dad! And just because he's good guy doesn't automatically make me happy Rebecca! You know what? Stay out of my business if I want to fuck Cesar then I will." She bumps into Becca as she runs upstairs to her daughters bedroom.

"Hey baby."  She comes in slowly and see Mercy half asleep. She hops in the bed with her daughter and lays behind her. She kisses her forehead as they both fall asleep.

The next morning Vee sneaks out. Mercy didn't have to get ready for school for another hour. She was surprised when she walked in the room and saw Jack.
"What are doing?" She says as he packs his bags. "Jack I'm talking to you." Tears started streaming down her face.
"I'm moving out Venus. We're done." He says sharply.
"Wha-what?.... what about the baby?"
"If the baby so happens to be mine then I will happily co-parent, but I can't get back with you after you fucked him-" He pointed as she smacked his finger out her face.
"I didn't cheat on you that was-"

"Before yeah I got that, but you kissed him. You love him Venus." Venus was speechless, she didn't know how to answer him. Did she love Cesar?

"Have a nice life Venus." He slings his duffle bag over his shoulder and walks out.
Venus sits on her bed with her head in her hands, praying everything works out with this baby.
