Y/N POV
We got back to shield and Steve was pissed off the whole ride back. We didn't really say anything to each other the whole time. I just held my hands together on my lap and sat in the back. As we walked through the hallways to fury office, Steve had a look of determination and was speed walking into his office.
"You just can't stop your self form lying." He walked over to Fury's desk and I stayed by his side the whole time to show that I sided with him.
"I didn't lie, Romanoff had a different mission than yours."
"That you didn't feel obligated to share." Steve snapped back.
"I'm not obliged to say anything." Fury snapped back as well. I wanted to bud in, But I felt like this was just gonna be a good conversation to sit out of. I held my hands behind my back and stared at them.
"Those hostages could have died, Nick." Steve said angrily.
"I sent the greatest solider in history to make sure that didn't happen."
"Soldiers trust each other, That's what makes it an army. Not a bunch of guys running around shooting guns." He had a point there Fury.
"Last time I trusted someone I lost an eye." Fury said whilst standing up. He placed his hands on the desk, he looked at me and than back to Steve.
"Look, I didn't want you doing anything your not comfortable with. Agent Romanoff is comfortable with everything."
"I can't lead a mission when the people I'm leading have missions of their own."
"It's called compartmentalization. Nobody spills the secrets, because nobody knows them all."
"Expect you." Steve said grinning.
"You're wrong about me...I do share...I'm nice like that...Follow me." He looked at me and began walking past me. Steve grabbed my hand and we walked into the elevator.
"Insight bay." Fury said.
"Captain Rogers and Y/N. Do not have clearance for project insight." The shield computer said.
"Director Override, Fury, Nicholas J." I just looked at Steve confused and he gave me a reassuring smile. I looked out the window as we took the elevator down.
"You know they used to play music." I piped up and smiled, I turned back to look at Fury.
"Yeah." Fury sighed. "My grandfather used to operate one of these things for 40 years. Grandad worked in a nice building, got good tips. He'd walk home every night, a roll of ones stuffed in his lunch bag. He'd say "hi", People would say "hi" back. Time went on the neighbourhood got rougher. He'd say "hi" they say "keep on stepping." Grandad go to gripping that lunch bag a little tighter."
"Did he ever get mugged?" I asked.
Fury chuckled. "Every week some punk would say "what's in the bag?"
"What would he do?" I asked
"He'd show them, A bunch of crumpled up ones and a loaded 22 Magnum." Me and Steve both sighed in satisfaction.
Fury smiled. "Yeah grandad loved people, But he didn't trust them very much. Fury walked beside me and look out the elevator. I did the same and saw these giant planes, But they weren't planes. They had a landing spot for planes and were probably 100 times the size. They were unreal.
"Yeah I know, There a little bit bigger than a 22." Fury said as he shot me a cocky smile. I looked over at Steve who had a face of disbelief and shock.
"What the hell?" He mumbled. The elevator doors opened and we followed fury out them. Walking across a path that could lead you to all them and other parts of the construction that was going on. Standing next to one of those was the weirdest thing, I felt like an ant compared to that thing. Steve's hand gripped my tighter, I could tell whatever these were, were not sitting well with him at all.
"This is project insight. Three next-generation helicarriers."

Oh there called hellicarriers. Makes more sense that giant plane things.

"Synched to a network of targeting satellites. Once their in the air, They never need to come down." We continued to walk past people working and other equipment, Which I almost tripped over a few times. Not gonna lie, Quite embarrassing.
"Continuous sub-orbital flight, courtesy of our new repulsor engines."
"Stark?" Steve asked
"He had a few suggestions once he got an up-close look at our old turbines." Steve laughed silently, but I didn't get it and looked at him and smiled playfully. He shoved me playfully and we continued to walk. Fury gave us a look and continued to talk.
"These new long-range precision guns. Can eliminate 1000 hostiles a minute. The satellites can read a terrorists, DNA. Before he steps out of their spider whole. We're gonna neutralize a lot of threats before they even happen."
"Thought the punishment usually came after the crime?" Steve said snarky.
"We can't afford to wait that long."
"Who's "we"?
"After new York I convinced the World Security Council we needed a quantum surge in threat analysis. For once. We're ahead of the curve."
"By holding a gun to everyone on earth and calling that protection." Steve grinned. Fury rolled his eyes and took a step closer to Steve.
"You know I read those SSR files. "Greatest generation." Fury mocked. "You guys did some nasty stuff."
"Yeah, We compromised. Sometimes in ways that didn't make us sleep so well. But we did it so people could be free. This isn't freedom, This is fear." He pointed to one of the hellicarries.
"S.H.I.E.L.D takes the world as it is, not as we'd like it be. It's getting damn near past time for you to get with that program, Cap."
Steve got into Fury's face. "Don't hold your breath." He huffed, he turned away and we began to walk away.
"Y/N." Fury said. Me and Steve both spun around.
"My office at 4." He said and walked off.
"Yes sir." I nodded my head and Steve grabbed my hand and gently yanked me, so he could put his hand around my waist.
"Are you okay?" I asked. He looked tense, scared, nervous, angry. All of these emotions I could tell were flooding his body.
"I'm fine." He sighed. I stopped walking and he looked at me, confused.
"You know you can tell me right?" I gave him a warm smile. He cupped my cheek and smiled.
"Yes, Let's talk tonight when we get back home." He kissed my hand.
"Alright." I grabbed behind his neck and kissed his lips.
"Do you wanna go for a motorcycle ride?" He grinned.
"Umm. But I have to be back at 4."
"I know, I have something to do at 4 as well. So it works out." He smirked.
"What do you have planned?"
"I'm gonna go visit Peggy." He frowned than smiled.
"Oh right." I remember him taking about that the other day. I don't mind him visiting her at all, I understand that she was a big part of his life. So I would never keep them apart, because I'm jealous. I kissed him again.
"Let's go for a ride." I smirked.
