Chapter 13: Stay With Me
It was thundering very loudly today. Looking out the balcony, I watch as the dark night lights up for a few seconds when lightning strikes. My eyes were tired from studying for an hour so I shut my laptop closed, sitting up. My throat feels dry so I stood up, wanting to get me something to drink.
As I was putting on a shirt, I heard someone yell, but I couldn't tell if I was hearing right since it thundered loudly. Walking out of the room, I start to head towards the stairs when I heard noises coming from Caleesi's room. Heading towards the door, I grab a vase from the small table in the hall just in case I might need it.
I quickly open the door.
"Get away from her!" I shout angrily at the dark figure in the middle of the room. I couldn't see his face clearly since the lights were off. As hard as I can, I threw the vase in his direction making him stagger back as it hits him right on the head.
Since he was still trying to recover from the hit, I run forward kicking him in the chest. He flies back against the wall, dropping his gun on the floor. I kick the gun as far away as I can so he does not touch it.
At that moment, I'm thankful for all that fighting, defense lessons I had with my father.
Lightning strikes and for a brief second, I was able to see a bit of his face in the dark corner.
Rushing over to Caleesi who was lying on the floor, I was worried for her. She held her hand closer to her chest in pain and I kneel beside her, helping her to sit up.
My heart broke at the sight of her like this.
"Arrow," I call her softly, a hand on her cheek as I pull her closer. "I'm here, I'm here."
"My-my hand," She chokes as I look at her hand, trying to assess how damaged it is. She pulls away in pain and it made my blood boil. She is like this because the bastard tried to hurt her.
The lights turned on as Annie and Gwen show up, eyes wide as they take in the scene. Standing up, I turn away from Caleesi and then towards the bastard laughing to himself. Now with the lights on, I was able to see his face clearly.
It was the guy I punched that time at the cafe when he tried to bother Arrow.
Anger runs through my veins and I stomp over to him, pulling him up by his collar roughly.
"You hurt my woman," I grit through my teeth, "And for that...you will pay."
He tries to punch me but I grab his wrist in time, twisting it. I shove him against the wall and he drops down, laughing. He is supposed to be in jail right now. Why is he still out? Did the cops really let him off that easily?
I turn him around, grabbing his arm as I say, "You hurt her. You hurt her hand! That hand is special, you bastard. It has done more than you ever will. You should have never laid a hand on her."
He groans in pain when I kick him in the stomach, making him fold, a hand on the floor. I was seeing nothing but red. His face was badly bruised since I might've dragged him on the shards of the vase. I can't forgive him for what he did to the girl I love.
I step on his arm, not applying too much pressure just yet.
"Okay," He groans in pain, trying to get up. "I'm sorry."
"Sorry isn't enough," I state monotonously, pushing him back down, "You must feel the pain you made her feel."
He lets out a cry of pain when I kick his hand hard against the floor. His face turns red and I could see a vein popping out on his forehead. His teeth were clenched as he feels the immense pain. I apply more pressure on it, not wanting to step back just yet.
"O my god!" Aunt Melinda showed up, panicking. "Someone call the police! Caleesi, dear. Are you okay? Annie call the ambulance!"
The bastard tries to push my feet away and with that, I kick him in the face sending him back on the floor, knocked out.
He was knocked out.
I turn around, picking up Caleesi who has turned pale. I must rush her to the hospital right now.
"Tie him up," I told the girls as I walk pass them. "I'm bringing her to the hospital."

I run my hand through my hair, distressed as I pace around. I have brought Caleesi to the hospital and the nurses have brought her into the emergency room. One of the nurses on duty recognized her right away since she takes care of Caleesi whenever she comes to the hospital.
Right now, they are attending to her broken hand. Since tomorrow is her eye surgery, they decided to just start it right away instead of waiting till tomorrow. I was exhausted and full of worry.
Had I not showed up quickly, she would have suffered even more.
"Is she okay?" Aunt Melinda asked, running over to me.
I nod at her, "They are taking care of her right now."
She doesn't say anything, but her face says it all. She is worried for her niece. Annie tells me that the scene is being investigated and that the bastard is in custody. I hope that will be the last time we'll ever see each other again.
I might end his life if there is a next time.

News about the bastard went viral. It was all over the internet as well as the news channel. He is being held in custody until the court decides what will happen to him.
Darin Estrange.
That was his name.
He was 24 year old guy who always causes trouble. According to some comments, he is a little crazy in the head and belongs to a wealthy family in Makati. Some girls confessed to being treated that way too by the same bastard. I just hope they put him somewhere where he can't hurt anyone anymore.
"He's assaulted girls before," Gwen said, pulling me out of my thoughts. "Caleesi wasn't the first."
"Hopefully she is the last," Annie added from the back seat of my car. "It's guys like him that make us woman walk around in fear."
We were getting ready to leave the house and return to the hospital to check up on Caleesi. Aunt Melinda has been with her after I left, knowing she was okay. I didn't want to leave her, but I had to take care of some things and change into better clothes. We brought her new sets of clothes for her to change into as well. Later today, they'll be removing the cloth from her face so she could see.
She can finally see again.
And I want to be there when she does.
"Thank God," Gwen sighed, "I'm glad you saved her, Archer."
I nod at her, reversing out of the parking lot, "Me too."
When we arrived at the hospital, the girls got out and entered the hospital first while I go park my car. Once I park the car, I got out and was making my way to the entrance when suddenly I heard my name being called.
Turning around, I was met with a blonde haired girl waving at me with a smile. She looked familiar. I think I have seen her somewhere before.
"Hi," She came up to me, "I'm Sloan. Can I talk to you over some coffee?"
