It's almost dinner time. I've been lying in my bed since Mr. Walker dropped me off.

What a day...

I sigh, then unlock my phone and see I have like 10 messages. All of them from Katie.

I open our conversation.

Katie: Hi. You up?

Katie: How are you?

Katie: Can we talk?

Katie: Please Hunter, don't shut me out!

Katie: Hunter?

I read all of her messages. She's super worried. I have to write back or she'll go crazy.

Me: Yup. I'm here.

She replies instantly.

Katie: Finally! You scared the hell out of me!!

Me: Sorry.

Katie: Are you okay? Please talk to me!!

Me: Meet me in the lobby in 5.

Katie: Goin'

I slowly sit up and look at my shoes. I don't have the strength to keep messing with the laces again, so I'll just put my slippers on.

Reluctantly and painfully, but I manage to stand up.

I begin to walk to the door, but then I stop. I look back at my skateboard.

'That's a really bad idea!' I hear my inner voice say and I leave the room without it instead.

My head is throbbing as I walk down the stairs.

Jeez! Like someone is hitting my head with a rock all the time.

I finally reach the door that leads to the lobby. And when I open the door someone jumps on me and hugs me tight.

Of course. It's Katie. I almost forgot what I came down here for.

In a normal case, it would be a very nice moment, but my body hurts as fuck.

''Katie.'' I say but she doesn't let go. ''Katie, it hurts.'' I try louder this time looking down at her.

I keep trying, but she's squeezing me to death right now.

''Katie, please let go! It's not broken, but it will be if you keep squeezing me.'' I can barely spit the words out.

She finally let's go of me.

''Sorry!'' She apologizes.

We're standing in the doorframe in total silence and just staring in each others' eyes. Then she just freaks out!

''What the hell happened Hunter? Sean told you fell off your skateboard and that you fainted. And that you hurt yourself. What happened? I was so worried about you!'' She jabbers without taking a breath.

''Relax. I'm fine. It doesn't even hurt that much.'' I lie. It hurts like a bitch. But she doesn't need to know that.

''You don't seem fine.''

Gosh! She looks so worried.

I reach out and hold onto her hand. Then she looks at me.

''Look. It's not a big deal. I didn't eat anything for a day. It was too much, and my body gave up. But I'm fine now. See.'' I try to calm her down.

''I'm not only worried about how bad you were hurt.'' She says and she sounds as she's about to cry.

Oh no. Just don't cry!
