Chapter XLVI: Hunter

''I didn't say this out loud, did I?'' Asks my inner self.

Hell yeah I did.

Wow. I love her.

There's total silence.

Shit! I'm pretty sure I screwed up.

Gosh I'm a total idiot...

A few seconds pass and there's a knock on the door.

''Yo, H!'' I hear from outside.

''Shit!'' I swear and jump out of the bed.

Sean freaking Butler! Shit!

''Shit!'' I say it out loud again.

''Hunter!? Are you there?'' Sean calls up again.

''Uh...um yeah! Why?'' I yell back.

''Have you seen Katie? Liz has been trying to find her. But she doesn't know where she is.''

Shit! Shit! Shit!

''Uh no. She's just probably reading a book somewhere you know. Where no one bothers her.'' I lie.

I look at Katie. She's just sitting on the bed trying hard not to burst out laughing.

''Can you open for a second?''

Come on Sean! Do you really never give up?

I turn to Katie who's looking at me with a huge smile on her face, which is about to turn into a huge laugh.

Shit!

''Under the bed. Now!'' I claim.

''What?'' She asks chuckling.

I shut her mouth.

''Just do it!'' I ask and let out a silent laugh, then shout back to Sean, ''Uh wait a minute. I'm naked right now. Let me put on something.''

In the moment I say this out loud, Katie lets out a big laugh.

Oh come on!!

I shut her mouth again and point under the bed.

I take off my shirt and quickly get rid of my pants too.

I keep fiddling with my belt as it won't open.

I couldn't come up with anything else. This seems the most sensible and believable excuse that Sean will actually believe.

Sean shouts my name again, but I ignore it.

Finally, my belt opens and my pants falls to the ground.

I'm standing in the middle of the room with only an underwear and a pair of socks on.

I look down at Katie. She's still sitting on the bed watching me.

Of course. She's never seen me like this.
