I help her down the counter.
She almost falls as her feet touch the ground, but I catch her just in time.
''O-kay. Let's get you out of here.'' I put her hand around my shoulder.
She's half awake. Jesus!
I try pushing everyone away as I go through the crowd.
''What? Where are we going?'' She asks after about a minute.
''It's okay. Just hold on!''
We pass next to the big glass door that leads out to a giant yard. There's a big pool and a jakuzzi. Some people are enjoying the hot water and some are just out smoking. Plus, God knows what else is going on in the dark.
I look through these people real quick, then I see someone familiar climbing out of the water. I can't really see who that is from the steam and the smoke. But I've got an idea.
You bitch!
''We're gonna get some fresh air alright?'' I say to Katie. She nods.
I help her out the door and sit her down on the closest chair that's standing next to the wall.
''There you go.'' I try to make her lean to the wall so she won't fall off. Hopefully. ''Stay here! I'll be right back.'' I promise as I wipe her hair out from her face. She nods.
She'll have to be fine here. It won't be long anyway.
I go look for that person. I hope it's not who I think of, cause I'm gonna be real pissed.
I go straight to the jakuzzi. Someone blows the smoke into my face, but I ignore it. I don't have time for this.
As I get closer I get a much clearer picture. This person is really who I thought of.
I make my steps faster and stop when I get there.
''What kind of friend are you huh?'' I rage at Liz. I don't care how many people are here.
She turns around immediately.
''Come on man, chill!'' Says Sean. I want to punch him right now so bad.
''How could I chill? She barely knows who she is.'' I scream the words.
''Who?'' Asks Liz like she doesn't know what I'm talking about.
''Are you fucking kidding me? Who the hell do you think I'm talking about?!''
Probably everyone is looking at me, but apparently I don't give a fuck.
I run my fingers through my hair and look at her. She doesn't even show any regret. You're such a nice friend Liz.
''Look. I told her that we'll be back in a few minutes. And she said she'll be fine.'' She explains and looks at her phone.
''Of course she said that. She's drunk.''
I need to sit down. I'm starting to feel a little dizzy, and it's getting harder to breathe. Not another panic attack! Not now! Not here!
