three months. three dreadful months alone.

six months ago, you had gotten married. he was your best friend, partner in crime, and now you could call him more than just a boyfriend. your husband.

the word still seemed off. like, you shouldn't say it. it felt new. your mom had always gotten divorced within the first year of marrying someone. so you were scared you'd turn out like her. but he kept telling you that you're different. your relationship is different. it's just not based on sex. it's a friendship, with the occasional kissing, pillow fights, late night talks, and being each other's rocks.

calum hood. famous bassist in a band. traveled the world from time to time. but he always had you with him.

so when the pandemic hit, and he was forced to quarantine at ashtons house for two weeks, you hated it.

you had just recently moved into your new house. you lived by luke, your brother, in a nice latin style house. it had a great view of the beach from the backyard, a pool, two bedrooms, and three bathrooms. two floors, and a whole lot of room for your new dog to run around in.

but even though you had your dog, it was still lonely. sure, you had been alone, but being in a new place for so long without him, made you uncomfortable.

it was currently the second week of quarantine. you were just coming in from walking the dog, when your phone started ringing.

you got it out of your pocket, and unclipped the dog from the leash, letting it run around.

you looked at the caller id, and saw it was calum.

you smiled, hitting the green answer button, and putting it on speaker phone so you could do the dishes.

"hi babe." you said, opening the dishwasher.

"hiiii." he said in a sing song voice, "watcha up to?"

"i'm just doing the dishes." you said, putting the silverware away.

"just one more week. and i'll be home."

you smiled, "ashtons house isn't that bad."

he chuckled, "well it's more of his drumming all the time. i mean, we've wrote a few songs. we're thinking of doing a music video for it this week. like, passing around green screens from house to house."

you smiled, "what's the song about?"

"uh, i don't know if i can spill yet, but it's called wildflower. i'm basically the only one who sings." he bragged.

"well i'm sure it'll be great." you smiled, beginning to fill the dishwasher back.

"i was wondering if you could bring me some black jeans. like, just set them in the mailbox or something so we don't break quarantine. and maybe some sweats."

you smiled, "yeah i'll do that."

"how are you doing?" he asked.

"i'm alright. i miss you though. it's not the same." you frowned.

"yeah. i need those enchiladas you make. i'm dying." he chuckled.

"i can make some, and set them on the doorstep for you and ash."

"would you?" his aussie accent came through.

"yeah. we can facetime or something with the other guys. like a family dinner. see how everyone's doing."

"i'd like that. so tomorrow night?"

"yeah."

"alrighty. well i've got to go record the last vocals for the song. i'll talk to you later?"

"yeah. i love you."

"love you."

you sighed, as the familiar beep sounded, meaning he hung up.

__

you put the tray of food on the door step next to the bag of clothes for calum. you also dropped off another guitar pic, because you already knew his was bound to be hanging on by a thread. when he was bored, he would play his bass. and quarantine was the definition of boredom.

you rung the doorbell and stood back by the sidewalk, pulling your mask up. you just wanted to say hi.

the door opened, and out came calum. he was in sweatpants and his 'sensation' shirt.

"hi." you waved, and he smiled, "thanks babe. you're literally the best wife on the planet."

you blushed, "nah. but tell ashton i said hi."

"i will. i love you."

"i love you too."

__

it was the last day of quarantine. you were about to bounce off the walls. calum had said he was allowed to come home, but only if you quarantined together.

so you cleaned the house, gave the dog it's much needed bath, and made dinner, pancakes. with a side of piña coladas with umbrellas.

you set the table, and just as you were about to call calum, a tesla pulled up in the driveway.

you looked out the window and saw it's blue tint. of course, it was calum.

you felt nervous, excited, and happy as you opened the door as he was walking up.

immediately he dropped his bags and engulfed you in a hug, him smelling slightly like ashton, "i missed you so fucking much."

you smiled, burying your face in his chest, "you never realize how hard it is to sleep without someone until they're gone."

"tell me about it." calum said, and cupped your face gently in his warm hands, "i missed you so much."

his lips collided with yours, and you kissed back. it was an 'i missed you so much' kiss. not a lustful one.

you broke the kiss and smiled up at him, "i made pancakes."

he smiled, "really?"

you nodded, grabbing the door and swinging it open, revealing the cleaned house and pancakes and piña colada's.

"alcohol!" calum smiled, closing the door behind him.

you laughed, falling into his warm embrace again, "it's good to have you back."

he didn't say anything, just wrapped his arms tighter around you, kissing the top of your head.

"i love you so much."

"i love you too cal."
