"throwing rocks at your window at midnight."
the clock read 11:57pm. the time he usually met her by the window.
he waited patiently another three minutes, just to be sure. then, he carefully picked up three pebbles from the ground, and chucked them at the large window, that landed with a little tap before hitting the ground.
after the second pebble, her face shone in the window. confused at first, but once she saw his face, it lit up.
she opened the window, and looked down at him. her face looked almost perfect with the moon across it.
"what's going on? you usually come tuesday." she says, looking at her watch, "and it's exactly twelve."
he smiled, fiddling with his fingers, "i figured we ought to go somewhere. just you and me. no band mates this time."
she smiled and nodded, "i'm gonna get some pants on."
he laughed, "hey, no pants would be great too."
she scoffed, saying, "nice try hood." and turned on her heel.
he waited patiently, looking around her backyard. her parents were the richest people on the block. they had a very high fence made of a bush, which he had to climb over with great difficulty. not to mention the high tech security cameras which where plastered around the house. but he had been doing this so long, he never got caught.
finally he saw her face again at the window, and waved. she smiled, sticking her leg out the window to climb down. he stood below, ready to catch her if she fell.
she successfully climbed down, now dangling from the gutters. he grabbed her gently by the waist, and hoisted her safely to the ground.
"you met me in your backyard that night"
she was wearing an oversized green day shirt, with ripped jean shorts on. her shoes were nice and white, like they were new. but he had given them to her a year ago at her birthday. she wore them everywhere.
"where to?" she asked, following him towards the picket fence.
"i don't know yet." he smiled, and began climbing up the 'fence'.
she followed, and he helped her get down. she was short after all.
he walked down the sidewalk next to her, with his hands in his jacket pockets. it wasn't a cold night, but the small amount of wind would make anyone feel a little chilly.
"why did you come today?" she asked, breaking the silence he hoped would be broken soon.
but he didn't want it to be broken with that question, "i don't know. i- i just think we need some time to ourselves. we are dating ya' know."
she smiled, looking up at the moon, "it's pretty, isn't it?"
"in the moonlight you look just like an angel in disguise"
he wasn't paying attention to the moon. didn't even take a glance at it. he was only looking at her perfect face that was shining in the moonlight.
"beautiful." he said, studying the features on her face.
she looked down and met his gaze, ruffling her eyebrows, "what are you looking at?"
he blushed and looked down at the sidewalk, "oh, nothing."
they continued walking, until he saw what he was looking for, "let's go down here."
