two months. two months calum had been in a coma. two months you had blamed yourself for everything that had happened.

two months for you to find out you were pregnant. but no one but crystal knew. not even your own brother. expecially not ashton.

today you were at the hospital, watching calum's restful face. you had read that coma patients often can hear what you say, and often can signal that they know what you're saying. you were going to test it out.

crystal was with you today, but she didn't know you are going to tell calum. of course, you wouldn't be able to see his reaction like most girls do when they tell their significant other they're pregnant, but you would have to do it anyway.

calum didn't have his casts on anymore, and he could breathe on his own. but still, there were no signs of him waking up.

"hey cal." you said, grabbing his hand. when he first got in the wreck, you couldn't bare to sit in the same room as him. but now that he looked normal again, you talked to him like you talked to yourself inside you head. daily,
and without thought.

"i don't know if you're listening, or if you can hear me, but i didn't just come here today to talk to you." you started off, grabbing crystals attention.

"it's been two months since your wreck. it's currently february fourteenth. it's valentine's day. um, i've got good news. well. it's good news to me. i don't know if you want this, but it's happening."

crystal rubbed your back, urging you to go on.

"calum, you're gonna be a dad. in eight months. it's two little girls." you smiled as a tear slipped down your face, and into the palm of his hand, "their due date is halloween. i'm hoping and praying you'll be better by then. i don't think i could raise twins by myself. so please cal. if you can hear me, please. please wake up before then. i need you." you breathed, trying to not break down.

if calum heard you, you didn't see any signs of it. he just laid there. his eyes closed, breathing softly. watching him made your heart break into a thousand pieces.

"holy shit." crystal said, pointing at calums face.

you scrunched your eyebrows together, looking closer. from the looks of it, you didn't see anything. just calum's unshaven face, and curly hair.

"what?" you asked, surveying her eyes. she stood up, reaching over to his cheek. she swiped her finger under his eye, and showed you.

her finger was wet with a single tear that had made its way onto calums cheek.

"oh my gosh." you covered your mouth with your hands, looking back at calum. just like you had saw, a tear was slipping down the side of his face, until it dropped silently onto his pillow.

two weeks.

you were counting down every minute. every last second.

two weeks until you would be in the hospital, delivering calum's children.

calum still didn't wake up. no movement whatsoever. many times, the doctors tried to tell you to just pull the life line. that he was just money being wasted. of course, you refused. you had hope. though with the days becoming longer, you didn't know how long you could stand without him.

today you were in the hospital with luke and ashton. ever since calum's crash, they took a break from the band. they didn't quit. just said they needed some time to think. some time to recover.

the fans were devastated. you had gone to so many interviews, explaining calums condition. you couldn't walk down the street without cameras in your face. and it didn't help that you were pregnant with calum's children.

you didn't want to name the kids until after they were born. if the boy had your eyes, that meant he had ashton's eyes. so, you wanted to name him fletcher. if the girl had calum's eyes, her middle name would be thomas. but you hoped you wouldn't name them alone.

sitting in silence was the worst. the band had stopped doing literally everything. they stopped going to the studio, picking up their instruments, or even doing anything calum remotely liked. they were drained of their former selves. you on the other hand, were the same. every night you couldn't bare to sleep in your room. you'd have to sleep on the pull out couch downstairs. even looking at the bedroom door made you sick to your stomach.

"you guys wanna go eat?" luke spoke up. unfortunately your pregnancy cravings had swerved tremendously. luckily ashton moved in with you for your pregnancy to help you out. his girlfriend also helped you with anything ashton didn't feel comfortable doing.

"where at?" you asked, your eyes still glued on calum.

"i don't know. i'm kinda feeling ribs." he said without thinking.

"that was his favorite food." you said, spinning the ring on your finger.

you could hear ashton sigh deeply, and getting out of his seat.

the cushion sunk beside you, and aston wrapped his arm around you, "i know it was, but you've got to stop this. you're draining yourself. you can't even sleep in your own bed without crying the whole night. and it hurts me to see it. now i know calum's not here right now, but i know he'd be telling you right now that you're killing yourself. he'd tell you to pick yourself up, and continue to actually live. not just exist. now you're going out for ribs with us. you haven't eaten all day, and those two beautiful children you're carrying can't survive without their mother taking care of herself first. i want
you to think about them. they need their mom."

ashton grabbed your hands, gently pulling you off of the couch, "grab your purse. we'll come right back."

wiping your tears away, you grabbed your bags.

ashton was right. you had to pick yourself up.
