TW: nightmare, panic attack, mentions of burns and burn scars

Roman tossed and turned, trying to fall asleep but it was hard. He was nervous about their plan. They weren't done yet, their plan was extremely risky, but it was a start.

Virgil had taken some needles, scissors, and spools of thread from the sewing kit he was given after fixing his shirt. At first, Roman didn't think Virgil would be that good at sewing since he had used white thread to fix his black shirt and it looked extremely messy, but that must have been his intention since he was able to make a backpack out of nothing but a bedsheet in less than two hours.

The backpack wasn't too bad either, Roman had tested it out by putting a glass lamp in it and putting it against his back and it didn't rip at all. Virgil's only complaint about it was that it was white and if they were going to sneak out at night it wouldn't blend into the shadows.

Virgil decided it would be best to steal some food from the kitchen and if possible any money. If they couldn't find money then they would find something valuable to sell in any town they come across.

It wasn't the best plan, especially since they don't know the layout of the mansion at all, but it was something. They just need to work on it a bit more before they actually try anything. In the meantime, Virgil will work on making disguises for them and anymore supplies they might need. It had been a few days so he had already made two cloaks from extra black curtains they found in the closet.

Roman rubbed his face, frustrated that his mind wouldn't let himself sleep. He got out of bed and walked over to the window, pulling the curtain back. The moon was a gibbous, almost a full moon, and the stars were beautiful. Roman sat down and stared outside, hoping he would get tired soon.

A few minutes had passed and Roman was starting to get tired, so he closed the curtain and got up, turning around to go to bed, but then he heard whimpering. His eyes went to the source and saw Virgil curling up tighter than usual, a look of fear on his face. He was having a nightmare.

Roman rushed over and kneeled down next to him. "Hey, hey Virge, it's okay it's just a nightmare." His hand hovered over Virgil's shoulder, unsure if he should touch him or not. "Virgil, you're going to have to wake up."

Instead of waking up, Virgil somehow got worse. He let out a sob and Roman noticed tears were slipping out from his closed eyes.

"Ple-please," Virgil mumbled. "Don't- no please."

Roman started to panic, he didn't know what to do. He knew he had to wake him up but would touching him make it worse?

"Virgil," Roman said a little louder, "it's okay, wake up."

Roman placed his hand on Virgil's shoulder to shake him awake but Virgil tried to push him away.

"No, no please," Virgil cried. "Ja- please help."

Roman grabbed his arm a little tighter and tried to shake him as gently as he could. "Virgil it's a dream, it's not real!"

"No! Stop!" Virgil's panic increased and he struggled against Roman's grip. "Let me go! Please! No-no! Too much, it's too much! It burns! Help! Janus please! Too-too much! Too much fire!"

"Virgil hey! Wake up, please wake up!" Roman was still holding onto him and Virgil tried to push his arm away.

"Let me go!" Virgil pushed him hard, making Roman fall back.

Roman got up to try again, but noticed Virgil's eyes were finally opened. He was relieved until he realized Virgil's eyes were unfocused and he was still shaking horribly, tears pouring from his unseeing eyes.
