PONSI'S POV

I listened to Cal and Gemma talk quietly from the couch. After they fell asleep, I sat there awake. As much as I wish I could fall asleep, I couldn't. Every time I tried, it never worked.

Cal ended up waking up about three hours before the sun rose. She sat up quickly, looking around the room in a panic. Great, she's got nightmares again. I wish I was able to make her feel better like always. This just sucks.

I watched helplessly as Cal looked around in slight panic. She didn't wake anyone up, so she sat there and tried to calm herself down. Eventually, she did. But her sleep didn't last long. About thirty minutes later, she woke up again.

"Screw this shit." Cal muttered under her breath as she stood up, popping her back. I followed her up and out of the doors. She walked down to the lobby and glanced out the front windows to see if the paps were there. Thank god they weren't.

Cal walked over to the two cops that were sitting in a chair in the lobby. "Ty? Brenden?" She asked as she got closer.

"Calliegh? Hey, what's up?" One really tall guy sat up and smiled.

"If I go out, will y'all let me back in?"

"Where are you going?"

Cal looked around to make sure no one was around before putting two fingers to her lips and pulling them away slightly.

"Oh, smoke break... Yeah go ahead, we've got you covered." The other one nodded.

"Thanks, Ty." She smiled and walked out of the front doors. I followed her out and sat on the bench next to her.

"I'm sorry, Cal." I muttered as Cal smoked her cigarette. "I'm not too sure if I approve of this smoking thing, but I can understand why you'd do this." I shrugged like she could hear me. Maybe I'm going crazy, but talking to her like she could actually hear me keeps me sane. Same with Phil and Sean, and Caroline. It'd be great to be able to actually talk to them, but I can't. At least I'm like this and not dead, though.

Cal suddenly pushed her upper body forward and braced her elbows on her knees with her hands covering her face. Then, she got a text. I looked over her shoulder and read the text. Of course it was from Ashton.

Hey, I just got to Miami. I'm flying out tomorrow to go to active duty. Cal paused for a second as she read this.

Then the weirdest thing happened. I accidentally leaned a little too close to her and barely touched her shoulder with my chin. She stiffened and turned around and looked directly at me. I froze. What the hell just happened?

"Hello?" She looked around and her breathing slowly became quicker.

I looked down at my hands. Did I seriously just touch her? Like she could feel me? "What?" I frowned slightly and made a risky decision. I slowly reached over and poked her shoulder. There was no response. "Shit." I muttered as Cal stood up, still freaking out.

"I don't know who the hell is out here, but you better not be screwing with me." She snarled, clearly pissed.

I stood up, ready to go after her. She looked ready to run.

She looked around some more before she texted Ashton back quicker than I could read the message. Quickly stuffing the phone back in her pocket, she kept looking over her shoulder, the same one I had touched earlier.

Sean suddenly came down the path silently. He walked up to her without her seeing him. She's about to be freaked out.

Cal turned around right as Sean was about to tap her on the shoulder. She ran right into him, almost knocking them both over. Sean caught himself as Cal tumbled backwards and screamed. "Holy shit, Sean! Don't do that to me ever again!"
