"No, I can't do this." Ashton stubbornly crossed his arms as he sunk farther into the couch.

"Come on, just man up! You can figure out how to survive!" I tried to help him feel better. Ashton had come back over this afternoon to worry about the military. I feel bad for him, to be honest, he's just a mess of worry about this whole thing.

"No, I don't want to do this!"

"Hey, let's get your mind off the military, okay? Wanna go catch that movie? Remember last night? I said I'd take a rain check, we can to it today!"

"Later, I'm too lazy right now."

"You're such a lazy ass sometimes, you know?"

"I know, but that doesn't stop you from being friends with me."

"Yeah because I'm a lazy ass most of the time."

"True, you are an ass."

"Hey!" I laughed and shoved him. "Okay, what do you want to do?"

"Let's just sit here, do nothing."

"I'm cool with that." I shrugged and flipped upside down because I like sitting like that, sue me.

Ashton and I had been sitting in the couch like this and watching TV for a couple hours when I heard a loud knock at my door. I froze and slowly pulled myself up so I could see over the back of the couch. "CALLIEGH, OPEN UP, WE KNOW THIS IS YOUR APARTMENT!" My heart skipped a beat, that was Isom's voice.

"You can't hide forever!" Sean added when I didn't reply.

"Calliegh, who's that?" Ashton asked.

"I don't know." I lied.

"They sound like they know you, maybe you should get the door." Ashton sounded like he was getting more and more concerned by the second.

"You know how else sounds like that? People who are trying to rob you." I blurted before I thought about what I had just said.

"Oh, my god, someone's trying to rob you..." Ashton muttered as I heard the guys talking quietly. It was sadly too quiet to make out what they were saying. I glanced back at Ashton.

"Can you hear them?"

"No, can you?"

"Barely." I lied.

"Tell me if you hear anything bad."

I was about to speak up again when Mark spoke up. "Listen, if you don't open the door right now, I'm gonna break it down."

"Mark, what if she's not home?" Phil said.

"Call her." Mark answered. I glanced down at my phone as it started ringing, it was Ponsi. I let it go to voicemail, hoping they'd think I was out.

"Damn it." Ponsi cursed. "Let me text her."

"Yeah, see if she responds." Sean agreed.

A few seconds later, I got a text from Ponsi asking if I was home. I completely ignored it because I didn't want to move.

"She's gotta be home!" Cubbie's voice added. "Her car's out front."

"Unless she went out with friends." Phil suggested.

"Okay, let's just check because we need to talk to her." Mark said. "Look for a spare key."

I heard rustling around my door before Ponsi found it. "Guys, I found it!" My blood ran cold and I turned back to Ashton, who jumped back up and kneeled on the couch next to me.
