Maeve has made a mini dinner and is wringing her hands nervously. She looks like a mess but she's trying her best to smile.
It's so heart breaking to see her and I almost cry for the first time today.
“ I made dinner........and.....I.....I....the......” she sounds so nervous like she's not sure how to act around her friends
She looking so tiny and alone, standing next to the would-be-dinner she made trying her hardest not to cry.
“ It looks nice. I hope it's as delicious as it looks.” Jesse says helping himself to the food.
He doesn't realize that the food is hot and gets burnt.
“ It's a bit hot.” Maybe warns a few seconds late, giggling slightly while a tear slips from her eye
“ I was about to say that. But it's nice all the same.” Jesse says wincing
He pulls her into a hug and Benny and Damien join in the hug. London and Ivy soon join in the hug leaving out I and Heaven.
I'm not sure if I should also hug her because this seems like it's a personal thing for only the seven of them and I'd only be an intruder.
Heaven takes my hand and nods her head, silently reassuring me that it's ok for me to want to be part of this moment.
The eight of us stay like that in the group hug for what feels like hours, not moving and not saying anything, just being there for each other.
“ Don't you think the food's grown cold by now?” Benny finally asks
We all break out of the hug reluctantly and turn to the food.
“ I guess I'll just pop that in the microwave then.” Heaven offers
I turn on the TV and flip channels until I see yellow on the screen
There's nothing SpongeBob can't fix
“ Are you for real?” Ivy asks me raising an eyebrow up
I nod my head and pat on the couch.
Benny holds Maeve's hand and guides her to the couch, they both sit down and Maeve rest her head on his lap while he plays with her hair.
These two would make such a cute couple.
“ Are you ready kids?” the man from the TV asks
“ Aye, aye captain!” I and Benny chorus
We look around and Benny asks
“ Are we the only ones?”
He interrupts the man on the TV who is saying
“ I can't hear you!”
Then I and Benny yell louder
“ Aye, aye captain!”
Then the song begins and we chorus
“ SpongeBob SquarePants!” to every question the man on the TV asked
When the theme song is done, they show an episode I've watched a million times, but I don't mind.
Heaven walks in with the food and sets it on the centre table.
“ What're we watch.........” she turns to the TV
“ Oh SpongeBob! What episode?”
She sits down on the floor next to me
“ The one where Squidward gets a nose job.” Benny answers enthusiastically
After the episode, and we all manage to at least get a taste of what Maeve made, Damien gets up, yawning and stretching
“ Would you look at the time? I need to head home.”
“ I'm beat.” Benny announces after Damien
