"I enjoy your company, and somehow I doubt this is the last encounter like this we'll have,"

__

Never in a million years did you think that you'd be making out with Snape in his dark classroom.

His lips were surprisingly soft against yours, but his kisses could only be described as roughly passionate. This couldn't be happening. How was this happening? Just two months ago you never would've imagined it playing out this way.

He took a step toward you, pushing you against the desk behind you. For a split second, you thought about Alicia and what she had said that day in the library. There was no way you could deny your feelings for him now.

His hand was still cupping your cheek when he pulled away, you were almost gasping for air. His eyes read something completely different when you looked into them.

He had been waiting to do that for a long time. It was written all over his face.

Your mind was having a hard time catching up with what had just happened. An hour ago you were hustling on the Quidditch field, and now you were physically confessing your adoration for him.

"Professor, I..." You trailed off, unsure of what to say.

He had your head craned upward in his hand so you were looking at him. Despite the fact that this was a very thing beyond your wildest dreams, you had the slightest bit of worry. What did this mean? You weren't really doing anything wrong...

"[Y/N], I think it would be rather difficult for us to deny this to ourselves any longer," He said, finally kickstarting the conversation that needed to be had. "We both know that there's something between us."

"Obviously." You said light-heartedly to ease the tension.

He chuckled lightly at that, but continued speaking.

"I enjoy your company, and somehow I doubt this is the last encounter like this we'll have," He spoke lowly. "But I'm sure you're aware that this goes against Hogwarts' rules."

A beat skipped in your chest. Somehow, that was something that hadn't crossed your mind yet. You doubted that Dumbledore expected this to happen when you were assigned.

"I think it would be harder to ignore this...to ignore us." You countered.

"I agree, but you do understand that if we decide to pursue what's happening between us, it needs to stay between us." He spoke, his hand leaving your face.

You were still backed onto one of the desks. You wondered which students sat there.

"I understand." You confirmed.

"Good," He purred. "Because I really don't want to stop this."

He would admit, he was surprised at himself. This was shockingly forward and bold of him. He never put everything out on the table like this. He was usually so reserved and careful of what he revealed of himself. It had been a long time since he had ever cared about someone in this context.

Once upon a time, he had made a promise to himself that he'd never fall for anyone ever again. It wasn't until he started spending time with you that he realized that was a stupid promise. No one had control over the way they felt about people. That scared him.

He kissed you again in an attempt to clear his mind of the worrisome thoughts. This was something you could get used to. As much as keeping this relationship confidential should've intimidated you, it gave it a certain kind of thrill.

Attending Hogwarts and sneaking around with one of its most prized professors? It sounded like some kind of fun to you. He stopped kissing you again, a slight blush appearing on his cheeks.

"I believe now that we've established...us," He said meekly. You may call me Severus. Just not in front of anyone else."

That would be an adjustment for sure.

"Well then, Severus," You chided. "Looks like you've added a few requirements to the assistant's position."

"Apparently so. My only hope is that you can fulfill those requirements." He joked.

"I think I'll surprise you." You flirted.

"I also don't want you to be under the impression that I see you as just a sleazy assistant. I don't." He told you.

You shook your head with an enlightened smile.

"Perish the thought."

He hummed in response, your eyes looking to the clock on the wall.

"It seems that's it's dinner time," You said, shifting out from under his hold. "Escort me to The Great Hall?"

He quirked a brow, but smirked.

"Gladly."
