"He was just coming to visit."

"It's not funny, Severus!" You shrilled, putting on your clothes from the night before as quickly as you could.

Another set of amused chuckles vibrated out of Severus as he buttoned up his robes. You had stayed the night with Severus, planning on returning to the hospital wing early in the morning before Pomfrey arrived and discovered you had been out all night. However, you both overslept, and now you were in a frazzled panic.

"It's a bit humorous." He disagreed, watching as you comedically limped around.

"It is to you. It's not so funny when the shoe is on the other foot." You snapped, referring to how you were the one who was going to get chewed out by Madam Pomfrey.

You finished getting dressed, not even bothering for his help as you approached the door. You began to walk at a snail's pace down the hall. It'd take at least fifteen minutes to get back to the infirmary at this rate.

"How come I only oversleep when I spend the night with you?" You questioned.

"I haven't the slightest. I think last night was the first night that you've gotten swell sleep in days." He noted.

You thought the same for him as well. He looked much more refreshed and rejuvenated. You gave a slight wave to a friendly fourth year Ravenclaw as he passed by, careful to look nonchalant as you walked with Severus.

"Pomfrey's going to freak out on me." You said, making a guttural sound with your throat.

"Relax, my lovely. We've gotten ourselves out of situations like this before." Severus said, slipping his arm into yours so you could go a little faster.

You looked at him with an incredulous expression. Severus had become so daring over time, and you became more cautious.

"You've become so audacious." You claimed.

"We've spent a lot of time together now. It's only natural that some of your attributes have rubbed off on me." He replied.

That was an interesting thought. Severus was known for being so stoically serious around everyone he interacted with. You wondered if you had actually started to change him in a different direction. It was a pleasing thought to think that you had put a little spontaneity back into a man by the rules. On the other hand, it was probably a good thing that he was putting some seriousness into you. It was a fine balance of jollification and solemnity.

During your journey through the castle, you heard an ear-splitting shriek that you knew to be Alicia's voice. You heard her sprinting footsteps come up from behind you, you and Severus both snapping around. She stopped when she made it to you, completely breathless and a line of sweat on her forehead as if she had just ran laps around the castle. She gave a polite wave to Severus as she spoke.

"[Y/N]. I've been looking for you everywhere," She gasped, putting her hands on her knees to collect herself; "Where the hell have you been?"

You felt the same feeling of dread the last time Alicia came rushing to you. The last time this happened, Draco Malfoy had pulled a stunt that you were sure you wouldn't have come back from.

"I was with Sev last night," You explained, looking at the ghostly white professor and back to her; "Malfoy again?"

She shook her head, still taking deep breaths.

"Worse. Madam Pomfrey has lost her marbles," She told you; "I went to visit you this morning and you weren't there. Pomfrey is freaking out, so she sent me to look for you."
