13. Movies And Blindflods

"I'll explain Yuuji first." Gojo pat my head as he stepped away from me and walked over to the table where a big assortment of movies laid.

"So... Movie appreciation?" Yuuji echoed again.

"Yup. From masterpieces to French movies with landmines of C-grade horror... It's gonna be non-stop for as long as you're awake."
Satoru started.
"Of course, you're not just gonna watch them. You're gonna watch them with this guy."

He pulled out a familiar looking doll. A bear with boxing gloves and it was snoring.

"What's this creepy-cute doll?" Yuuji and I asked as Yuuji took it into his hands.

"You two think it's cute?" Satoru asked confused.
"Anyway, it's the school principal's specialty--a cursed corpse."

"Ah, as I thought." I huffed.

"And?" Yuuji tilted his head.
"this isn't to the point at all?"

"Don't rush, we're almost there." Gojo said and just then the doll woke up and landed a punch into Yuuji's face.
"If you don't emit a constant flow of cursed energy, that cursed doll will wake up... And attack you, like it just did."

I snickered behind my hand as Yuuji held his face in pain.

"As I said earlier, since there's a variety of movies at your disposal... It can make your heart throb, make you anxious and excited... You can cry, laugh, and feel damn nauseated."
Satoru continued explaining.
"First, watch one full movie without waking that cursed doll and without getting hurt. This is training to maintain a constant output of cursed energy, no matter what emotion you're feeling. You can't emit too much or too little cursed energy. "

The doll in Yuuji's hands flapped around until it fell asleep for a second before it woke right back up.

" Right now, it's set to a minimal degree of cursed energy that even you can emit, but...gradually it will demand a bigger output so never lose focus, okay?"

"If it's like this, I can't lose focus even if I wanted to." Yuuji sighed.

"Alright, next, Y/n." Satoru turned towards me.
"You can do whatever actually, as long as you have that blindfold on."
He pointed to the cloth in my hands.
"That's my old blindfold by the way, so take good care of it, yeah?"
He pouted adorably.

I examined the blindfold in disgust.
"Do whatever? Sounds fishy."

"Ah, well..." He grinned again and pulled out another doll.
That one was a bunny with boxing gloves.
"You're getting one too!"

He chugged it towards me and I caught it.
"It's not the same as Yuuji's, is it?"

"That's right, since you're already able to emit cursed energy the whole time." Gojo smiled and suddenly the doll in my hands jumped up and swung its leg at me.

Surprised I dodged and it suddenly fell asleep again, falling into my arms once more.

"What was that?" I asked confused.

"You see, you're pretty good at hand-to-hand too, although not a beast like Yuuji." Satoru started.
"But as I said earlier, you rely too much on your eyes. If you hadn't seen it kick at you, you probably would've struggled to dodge, right?"

"I guess?" I furrowed my brows in confusion.

"So I want you to keep the blindfold on and keep that bunny by your side." Gojo smiled.
"While Yuuji needs to maintain a constant flow of cursed energy, you need to hone your ability to sense cursed energy."

"So what you're saying is, I have to be able to sense the doll attacking me, rather than seeing it attack me?" I rose a brow.

"Correct!" Satoru grinned. "But in contrast to Yuuji's doll, that starts and stops depending on the level of cursed energy, yours attacks at random times but stops after one attack."
