"June, Morioka, Kanada Taichi.
August, Yokohama, Shimada Osamu.
September, Nagoya, Yamato Hiroshi."
Nitta Akari, our current driver had started giving the four of us a bit of information.
"These three died under the same circumstances. Death by stabbing at their respective apartment's entrance. Also, all three had recently complained to building management that the autolock on the automatic doors was wide open. However, none of the other residents noticed.
I was pouting in the passengers seat, next to Nitta-san.
I had wanted to sit in the back with the other three, but obviously, there was no room for four.
Nobara and Yuuji were sandwiching Megumi in the middle as he showed the information on the tablet, which I wasn't able to see.
But thankfully, Nitta-san has been disclosing information anyway, I was just sad that I couldn't sit with the others.
I wanna be in the back with them...
You shouldn't have yelled 'shotgun' then.
Shut up, Sayato.
"But the dates and locations are different. Did they really get killed by the same cursed spirit?" Megumi voiced out as he looked over the details on the tablet.
"Does the door issue have anything to do with the cursed spirit? Would it even trip a sensor, since they don't show up on cameras?" Yuuji piped up and I hummed in thought, for once he was asking smart questions.
"It's not the door sensor but the door operator that was influenced and went crazy." Nitta-san clarified, only confusing the poor boy even more as he just nodded his head in response.
"It's hard to confirm from the crime scene whether or not it's the same curse. So we investigated if there is a common thread connecting all three. We found that they all went to the same junior high for two years."
"So, the three of them got the same curse. And then it manifested after all these years?" Nobara voiced out and Yuuji looked at her amazed before I tuned out as the two of them acted like idiots again in the backseat.
What do you think, Sayato?
You really think I'll help you, brat?
Honestly? I was hoping you would.
It's a possibility, I'm not going to say more.
Is it because of you?
No, now leave me alone. I wanna take a nap.
I thought you told me that curses don't need sleep.
They don't, I just enjoy it. So shut it now.
Alright, damn.
I sighed and crossed my arms, not realizing that we already arrived at our destination. Seems I missed quite a bit of their talk while I was speaking with Sayato.
We all got out of the car, looking at the throng of people unsurely.
"It's a funeral." I pointed out.
"This is where their classmate lives?" Kugisaki asked in confusion.
"Yeah, but... This ain't good. Seems like he died the same way as the other three." Akari sighed as we decided to check out the school instead.
"That was our only lead..."
"No problemo! There's gotta be something at this school!" Yuuji tried cheering the poor woman up.
"Oh! We got some punks over there. Let's beat them up and make them talk." Nobara grinned as she pointed at two guys smoking around a corner.
"Why?" Yuuji sweat dropped at that.
The punks looked up, ready to pick a fight until they stiffened and mechanically jumped up into a deep bow.
"HELLO! SORRY FOR NOT GREETING YOU PROPERLY!"
