Yuuji punched the wall with all his might and Ino-san flinched next to us.

"That's not gonna work this time around, Yuuji." I sighed.

"Well, if we punched together like last time-" he started but I shook my head.

"I doubt it would make any difference."

"You won't know until we try! Come on! N/n!" he pouted and sulked and gave me those puppy eyes.
He knew all to well I was weak against those eyes paired with my nickname.

I groaned, about to reject his plead but before I could open my mouth his eyes had started to sparkle as he crouched lightly, just so he could look up at me, fluttering his eyelashes.

"Pretty please, N/n?" he jutted his bottom lip out and I frowned.

"The appearance of your pleas won't change anything..."

"My most amazing and beautiful N/n, you wouldn't reject a favour from your bestest friend, would you?" he fluttered his lashes once more and even more sparkles appeared around him.

"How is he sparkling...?" I heard Ino-san wonder behind me and Megumi just sighed, apparently already used to our shenanigans.

"F-fine!" I yelled and he jumped up to his full hight, grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the curtain.

"I knew you wouldn't dissapoint me!" he grinned and winded his arm back.
"Do we strike like back then?"

"No, we'll punch at the same time, since you managed to get your cursed energy under control." I rolled my shoulder and winded it back as well.

Yuuji nodded and we both started charging our fists with cursed energy, as much as we could.

"3."

"2."

"1."

We both hit the curtain, our fists colliding with it mere millimeters apart. It felt like the curtain shook, or maybe it was the ground around us.
But other than that, nothing happened.

"What? Not even a crack?" Yuuji pouted with a frown.

"I told you it wouldn't work this time around." I sighed.

"Why?" he looked at me.

"It's simple, although I might be wrong." I started, catching the attention of both Megumi and Ino-san.
"The curtain is a barrier, like a domain expansion, in a sense."
I lifted my finger, trying to get my point across better.
"It traps you inside, so you won't be able to get out, that means that it's easier to break in from the outside."

"Oh, like with Nanamin that time!"

"That's right." I grinned at Yuuji.
"What I'm thinking of is, that the caster is outside the barrier, on the same side as us. They would be easier to spot, but in return the barrier would be stromger from the outside, too."

Ino-san gasped, finally realizing this possibility.
"Wait, but that completely ignores the basics of barrier techniques. We're dealing with some crazies, then! But that would also explain why Itadori's and L/n's punching didn't work."

"If that's true, then the curtains source of origin..." Megumi finally spoke up after a long time of silence.
"... should be somewhere obvious."

"The payoff for increased risk of being seen is a much more powerful curtain." Ino-san explained, as if it had been his idea from the start.
