Yuuji and I were nearing the station as I frowned, feeling the presence of two curses not too far ahead of us.
"Yuuji, we'll run into two curses shortly." I huffed as I glanced at the boy next to me. He was looking so serious, so determined, so-
Good looking.
What?! No!
Just admit already that you like the brat.
Sayato sighed but before I could retort, Yuuji had hummed loudly and pulled me from my argument.
"Alright, I'll take one and you the other." he nodded, readying himself.
"No." I sighed and he frowned, looking at me.
"What do you mean 'No'?" he pouted at me. "Aren't we supposed to be the best duo? You wanna hog all the spotlight or something?"
"It's not that, Yuu-chan." I shook my head, trying to ignore his adorable pout and stay serious. "We can't afford both of us being held back. Every second counts, Yuuji. Even one of us getting there just a few seconds earlier can change the outcome. What do you think will happen if we both get stuck here?"
"... We might be too late..." he frowned and nodded. "Alright, I'll leave this to you then, N/n."
"Don't worry, I'll be with you again in no time." I smirked.
He smiled back before it fell again when two silhouettes appeared ahead of us, blocking the entrance of the station. "So... How do I pass them?"
I hummed and let my eyes dart around thinking of a quick way to get Yuuji past them and into the station. "I'll boost you over."
